Mark’s explanation of Revelation 14 is biblically and historically inaccurate.

Mark again assigns all of Revelation to the future, instead of showing how it has been fulfilled historically.

Here’s the proper context for Revelation 14.  In the Two Witnesses Of Revelation 11 study, you learned that the Roman Catholic Church had worked so diligently to eliminate the Word of God and the Church of Christ, that in 1514 A.D., they proclaimed that there was no witness from them anymore.

And for 3 1/2 years, there was no testimony against the Papal Church as the false church, as the Two Witnesses laid dead.

Then 3 1/2 years later, the Two Witnesses rose up in great power after Martin Luther posted his 95 Theses in 1517 A.D., which sparked the Protestant Reformation.

The Word of God and the Everlasting Gospel were then spread worldwide, fulfilling Revelation 14:6.

And I saw another angel flying in midheaven, having an eternal gospel to preach to those who live on the earth, and to every nation and tribe and tongue and people;

The people in the Roman Catholic Church were starved for biblical truth, as the Papal Church did not allow them to have a Bible, the priests taught in Latin, and they said that salvation is by works through the Papal Church.

These Catholics were ripe for the harvest, so when Martin Luther and the Protestant Reformers preached the pure Gospel of salvation by faith in Christ’s atoning work as the Lamb of God, millions were reaped unto a harvest for the Lord, fulfilling Revelation 14:14-16.

The angel represents people like Martin Luther who translated the Bible in the German, causing many people to be saved by the pure Gospel.

The Protestant Reformers proclaimed that the Papal Church was the antichrist Beast of Revelation, the Little Horn of Daniel, and the office of the Papacy, the Son of Perdition, fulfilling Revelation 14:8.

“And another angel, a second one, followed, saying, “Fallen , fallen is Babylon the great, she who has made all the nations drink of the wine of the passion of her immorality.”

Judgment was coming upon the Papal Church and those who worshiped it and obey it., fulfilling Revelation 14:9

“Then another angel, a third one, followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God.” 

Obviously there weren’t any RF-ID chips or bar codes or Social Security numbers in the 16th-18th centuries, so having the mark of the beast meant that you worshiped (forehead) the Pope as God and you obeyed (right hands) his commands.

So this tells us what it really means to have the mark of the beast on you.  In the future when the Papal Church causes the world to bow to her authority, then they will use technology to enforce their New World Order. You can read about that in this study Revelation 13 Mark Of The Beast

The Roman Catholic Church responded to the Protestant Reformation with the Council of Trent in the 16th century, where they formulated a plan to bring the Protestants back under their control.

And they implemented the Inquisition, to torture and kill the Protestant heretics.

This is why our Lord gave His followers this promise, “And I heard a voice from heaven, saying, “Write, ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on!” Revelation 14:13

Revelation 14:17-20 will be fulfilled in the upcoming bowl judgments, as our Lord pours out His wrath on the Papal Church and those who worshiped it and obeyed it.

The Roman Catholic Church is Mystery Babylon, the old Babylonian religion of Sun and Satan worship, disguised as a Christian Church.

By Mark telling you the Babylon is anything else, he is deflecting blame away from the antichrist Papal Church.

He is either very deceived about prophecy fulfillment, or he is a deceiver.
