Michael Rood Is A False Prophecy Teacher

This End Times Deception study will focus on Michael Rood, who positions himself as a Messianic teacher.

Some Christians tend to trust Michael because he cites Hebrew sources. Michael claims that one cannot understand the New Testament from Greek, or from a Greek translation.

The irony is that his Revelation prophecy fulfillment explanations are wrong, so apparently understanding the ‘Hebrew’ version of Revelation hasn’t helped him.

I’ve used the Greek and English and I understand it just fine.  That’s proven out on the Revelation Timeline Decoded website.

Who is Michael Rood?

According to a brochure Rood produced to promote his seminars, “Michael John Rood is an ordained nondenominational Christian minister.” His “ordination” is from a cult called The Way International (TWI) required only minor instruction in an unaccredited TWI program. The Way International was a free love cult that was founded by Victor Paul Wierwille, who denied the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Many of Rood’s teachings and practices are drawn from this cult which was widely denounced by Christian leaders and TWI’s ex-followers alike.

Michael Rood rose to fame when he dogmatically and bombastically predicted that the prophetic “Day of the Lord” would begin on the Feast of Trumpets in the fall of 2000. Of course that didn’t happen, so he made excuses.

Should you trust someone who got his education from a cult and who has past false prophecy teachings?

He points to a futuristic one-man antichrist, but the saints have been proclaiming that it is the office of the papacy for 1,000 years; many of them paying for their witness with their blood.

Read Historical Witnesses Against Antichrist

The Protestant Reformers rightly identified that the office of the papacy fulfills Bible prophecy as the Little Horn of Daniel 7, the Son of Perdition of 2 Thessalonians 2, and the antichrist beast of Revelation.

Read Prophecy Points To The Leader Of The Roman Beast

Micheal Rood is not telling you those things, which deflects blame away from Rome.

He points to a futuristic 70th week of Daniel, the supposed 7-year tribulation period.

The concept of a futuristic 70th week of Daniel is a deception from the Jesuits of Rome, who created it to deflect blame away from the antichrist Popes.

There is no future 7-year tribulation period, as the 70th week of Daniel was fulfilled on time, after the 69th week; when Messiah and His disciples confirmed with the Jews (for seven years) that He is the promised Messiah who ratified the everlasting covenant with His blood, as the Passover Lamb.

The seven years ended after the Jewish leaders stoned Stephen to death, marking their final rejection of their promised Messiah. Then the book of Acts clearly shows a dramatic shift, as the Gospel was also preached to the Gentile nations.

Here’s a study series which proves that the 70th week was fulfilled on time, after the 69th week.

Read The 70th Week Of Daniel Deception

He teaches that Jesus ministry was only 1 year long, instead of 3 1/2.

Here’s three events in John where it records that Jesus went to Jerusalem.

At the beginning of Jesus’ ministry, John 2:13, “And the Jews’ passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem

John 6:4 “And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh.

At the end of Jesus’ ministry, John 13:1, “And before the feast of the passover, Jesus knowing that his hour hath come, that he may remove out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own who are in the world–to the end he loved them.”

Michael Rood claims that John 6:4 was added later and should not be in the Bible text. He says this leaves only two Passovers, one when Jesus started His ministry, and the other when Jesus was crucified, thus the one-year ministry. So let’s look to see if there is evidence that John 6:4 was added later.

In 175 AD Irenaeus wrote an opposing response to Gnostic teachers, who claimed the ministry was one year in an attempt to have it correspond to the pagan zodiac.
(Interestingly, Michael Rood’s calendar is based in part on the Zodiac calendar, and he also needs Jesus’ ministry to be one-year in order to make his teachings work.)

Irenaeus used John 6:4 as evidence to counter the Gnostic teachers, so the passage certainly existed in Irenaeus’ copy of John.  This refutes Rood’s claim that it was added later.

Not only do we have the testimony of Irenaeus in Lyons that the passage existed but P66 and P75, the two most important manuscripts we have of John’s Gospel (both date from about the 200 AD), contain the verse.

p66-manuscript-john-6-4Here’s a link to the P66 where it contains a list of verses that are on the manuscript, with John 6:4 included on the list http://www.earlybible.com/manuscripts/p66-Joh-33.html

The top Bible scholars do not say that John 6:4 should not be included.  This includes Albert Barnes’ Notes on the Bible, Adam Clarke’s Commentary on the Bible, Coke’s Commentary on the Holy Bible, John Gill’s Exposition of the Entire Bible, Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Commentary, John MacArthur’s Study Bible, Matthew Henry’s Whole Bible Commentary and Pulpit Commentary.

Once you throw out Michael’s argument that John 6:4 shouldn’t be included in the Bible, you can clearly see that the book of John mentions three Passovers, which proves that Jesus ministry was more than two years long.

And that destroys Michael Rood’s theory about Jesus one-year ministry.

Also of note is that his teaching is in direct opposition to the Word of God in the 70 weeks of Daniel prophecy, which clearly defines a 3 1/2 year ministry of the Messiah.

It says that the Messiah would appear after the 69th week, in other words in the 70th week, which is 7 years long. His ministry started when He was baptized and anointed, and He began preaching the New Covenant to the House of Israel.

Daniel 9:27 then tells us, “But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.” It’s saying that He would be ‘cut off‘ (Daniel 9:26), meaning crucified, in the middle of the 7 years, which caused the need for the temple sacrifices to end.

In this video, Michael Rood teaches about the futuristic “confirmation of the Covenant” that initiates Daniel’s 70th week.

This is false teaching, as the covenant of the 70th week of Daniel is the covenant that Messiah came to ratify with His blood as the Passover Lamb.

Here’s more detailed studies on the 70th week of Daniel, which prove that is lasted 3 1/2 years:

Proof That Jesus 3 1/2 Year Ministry Occurred In The 70th Week of Daniel

The Anointing Of Christ Started The 70th Week Of Daniel

Some of what Michael Rood teaches is true and he makes some excellent points about the Holy Feasts of God, but he has a track record of false teachings, and I would warn people to stay away from him.

Titus 1:10-11, 13-14 warn us, “For there are many rebellious men, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, who must be silenced because they are upsetting whole families, teaching things they should not teach…For this reason reprove them severely so that they may be sound in the faith, not paying attention to Jewish myths and commandments of men who turn away from the truth

For the record, I don’t observe Easter, Christmas, Halloween and Sun-day worship.

I observe the Heavenly Father’s seven Holy Feast days which Messiah is fulfilling to redeem His set-apart saints, and I observe the Scriptural Sabbath. I don’t eat pork or shellfish, as our Heavenly Father forbade them because they are unclean animals due to the fact that their bodies are filled with toxins from being scavengers.

I’ve come out of Babylonian-Roman Christianity and on my Come Out Of Her website I expose those man-made teachings.

  1. Michael Roof is very sincere to YHWH.
In the end judgement will be cast upon everyone and I doubt Michael Rood will be rejected by our creator.
I have studied 10 years with Jehovahs Witnesses, spent numerous years searching in Pentecostal churches and every other Christian church and I’ll tell you NOT ONE person knew what they were talking about.
    Michael Rood has amazing knowledge.

  2. I just learnt about Rood a few hrs ago on youtube and i find his work very fascinating. I decided to google him to find out what he truly believes then this site pops up. Saying some one is false doesnt make you true. And if someone doesnt teach what you teach doesnt make him Anti-christ or false prophet. Pride reeks all over this site. The world doesnt revolve around you David or your Ministry and God didnt give you any such mandate to seek and expose teachings that are not aligned with yours. Rood didnt go about talking about you on any site, he is busy on his expositions. People who take the time to analyse others , flag out their faults, create platforms to criticize them are not busy with their master’s work. Get busy David…Rood is…Thank You

    • It’s ironic that you accuse me of pride, and thinking that the world revolves around me… but you don’t see my face all over the website, and I don’t make the studies about me.

Your ignorance of prophecy fulfillment doesn’t mean that I’m wrong. The whole point of this page is that what Michael Rood teaches about prophecy fulfillment is false. But instead of learning something, you just criticize.

Well, now you are without excuse, because you were led to this website, which teaches the truth of prophecy fulfillment, but all you’ve dont is make accusations.

    • Did you even read? It was legitimate that michael rood has had false prophecies, and he gave a legit reason why john 6:4 wasn’t added. Then gave the simple truth on roods background in the cult among other things. Then ended by warning about the false teachings. Nothing prideful in there.

      • If John 6 4 belongs in the Bible then messiah sinned because it says he was teaching on a mountain and that means he was not in Jerusalem which was commanded by GOD that all males must go to Jerusalem for passover

  3. I am not replying to your opinion on Micheal’s teaching on Prophecy, but that you point to The Way International as some free love hippy ministry, I believe that most of what I learned from Dr. Wierwille to be accurate, and that it makes so much more sense than some of the things and inconsistencies, that I was taught in any of the multiple denominations I sought out as a young man.

  4. David, the one thing that im getting by reading your responses to others is you have NO humility to you. Your very arrogant and disrespectful. You DEFINITELY need to ask YHWH to help you with this. Btw you are wrong on some of what you preach. So I guess that makes you a false prophet as well. And no I dont have to expalin it to you. Go back and study and ask YHWH for humility so that you can learn the truth. And yes I am judging you.

    • Bill, I’m straight-forward, just as Messiah was. That is not arrogance or disrespect.

If you think that I’m wrong, why don’t you explain to me what I am wrong about, and prove it with Scripture?

Empty judging has no merit. I prove out how what Michael Rood teaches about prophecy fulfillment, is false. I back up my statements with Scriptural proof.

  5. Peter I know , Paul I know, but who are you ? Be careful of how you judge because Satan parades as an angel of light. Instead of being a hall monitor try being one who spends more time helping the poor, orphan or widow. This is the crap that turns off us sinners. We are a divided nation and church. The church is right now more of a harlot than we know. This why judgement will start with church first. Don’t start something that you might possibly end up doing more harm than good.

  6. Bashing a fellow teacher like you do is bad news. I liked what you teach about Revelation, it looks good and I’ll dive into it deeper later. But your arrogance about you being not false and Rood begin false is a bit out-of-touch with the bigger picture.
You only yap-yap about how Micheal teaches the 70week and Revelation wrong, but you have nothing to say about his other teachings. One then wonders whether you have any teachings other than Revelation and Daniel that you might be missing keys for, or even having it completely wrong. That would make you a false teacher as well.
Having had a revelation on Revelation does not make you the only one true. Get off of your high horse for that is a sin.

    • Seriously Jerry? It’s not arrogance to show how what Michael Rood teaches about prophecy fulfillment is false. I’ve never said that all that he teaches is false, I’m simply addressing his teachings on prophecy.

If you understood prophecy fulfillment, then you would know that my statements have merit.

I prove out the fulfillment of the 70th week of Daniel, Messiah’s Olivet Discourse, and Revelation; verse by verse; which proves that what Michael is teaching is false.

Here you are judging me with false accusations. You’re the one who is on the high horse, without any merit.

Shame on you! Study and show yourself approved!

      • I agree with Jerry. You are arrogant. You are too ready to declare heresy on issues that are clearly open to interpretation and have been argued about for two millenia and counting.
Here is a quote from your reply to Jerry – ‘If you understood prophecy fulfillment, then you would know that my statements have merit.’ Translation – if you were as smart as I am you would agree with me because I am right.
But you know no self-restraint and continue – ‘Here you are judging me with false accusations. You’re the one who is on the high horse, without any merit.’ Because of course you are the sole judge of what does and does not have merit.
And just like Peter you have to confirm it three times – ‘Shame on you! Study and show yourself approved!’ Approved by you of course – and that approval comes when one agrees with you.

        • I teach the same explanations of prophecy fulfillment, that the great theologians of the 16th-20th centuries taught; people like Albert Barnes, Adam Clarke, E.B. Elliot, John Gill, Henry Grattan Guinness, and Matthew Poole; but their witness has been pushed aside by the enemy; and the false, futuristic explanation have been pushed.

We can see how most of Revelation has been fulfilled in exacting detail, so it has nothing to do with my interpretation.

What I said to Jerry is true… if he understood the fulfillment of the 70th week of Daniel, Messiah’s Olivet Discourse, and Revelation; then he would understand why I say that Michael Rood is a false prophecy teacher.

You and Jerry have been given an opportunity to learn what the saints taught about prophecy fulfillment, as I document it on my websites; but sadly, all you’re doing is making accusations.

  7. I’ve tried to look up the website’s you give but not one of them work?? I study the bible and learn from Perry Stone a lot . I don’t understand what Michael Rood is talking about, it goes over the top of my head. I do think the New Testament was probably written in Hebrew as Yeshua’s followers were Jews, after all how could ordinary people who Spoke Hebrew whom Yeshua called to follow Him write Greek , they would surely write in there Owen language of Hebrew. Then as the gospel spread it was translated into other languages.

    • Donna, it’s tough to keep updating links, as people removed their pages. Michael Rood teaches some truth, but is misleading people with Jewish fables, and false prophecy fulfillment explanations.

Here’s my website which helps people come out of the teachings of the Babylonian harlot Roman church. https://comeoutofher.org

As for the New Testament, ask yourself, what is the mission of the writings? Is it not to preach the Gospel to the nations? Yes, so that is why the New Testament was not written in Hebrew, as the nations don’t speak Hebrew.

Messiah and His disciples spoke Aramaic and Greek, as they were the common languages. The New Testament was written in Aramaic and Greek, so that it could be spread around the Roman Empire.

There is no manuscript evidence of the New Testament being written in Hebrew.

Keep learning and growing in The Way!

  8. I like Michael Rood…have discovered many good things…he is led of the Lord to support the Ark of the Covenant of Ron Wyatts ministry. I agree with his work on the calendar , the Messiah makes the strong covenant for many but I dont agree it is a renewed covenant…also powerful work on the name of God YHVH discovered by Nehemiah Gordon. I dont agree with renewing sacrifices in a new Temple. I didnt like Michael calling ppl idiots in some broadcasts. So to sum up..just because God reveals treasures to a man isnt a seal of Gods approval of that man. We are never to trust in any man except the incarnate word Jesus of Nazareth

    • Teaching that the Roman Catholic Church worships the sun is great, but did Michael teach you how Revelation 12 is about the pagan Roman Empire? No.

Did he teach you that the office of the papacy, the Popes of Rome, fulfill prophecy as the little horn of Daniel 7, the son of perdition of 2 Thessalonians 2, and the antichrist beast of Revelation; who leads the harlot church of Revelation 17? No!

Did Michael teach you how the seal judgments caused the decline of the Roman Empire, as Satan had used the pagan Emperors to try to wipe out Messiah’s early assembly of saints? No.

Did Michael teach you how the trumpet judgment caused the fall of the western and eastern Roman Empire, as army after army were sent to attack them? No.

Did Michael teach you how the bowl judgments are against the antichrist beast Popes, and those who revere and obey them? No.

Did he teach you that the end-times earth beast of Revelation is led by the false prophet Superior General and the antichrist beast Pope; the two leaders (horns) who pretend to be Christian priests (lamb-like) but really serve Satan (like a dragon); in order to covertly make war with Messiah and His saints? No.

No, he didn’t teach you any of that did he? And you come here, accusing me of false witness?

Wake up Brogan! Study and show yourself approved. This website proves all of that, and much more, verse by verse. https://revelationtimelinedecoded.com

  10. David, well said, concerning Rood. I too have understood him to be false. If the Word of God doesn’t open their minds we can’t. Walter Martin use to say “People will do more for a lie than people will do for the truth.” I was presented with Rood over 8 years ago and told the individual that Rood is in error. Didn’t go well. What you have shared on the 70 weeks is biblically correct and sound. I take a little heat for the same thing.
Stay in His grace and keep up the work you are doing. If you can, email me for further conversations.

I enjoy listening to Micheal Rood and will support his ministry. He TEACHES with the understand that we are to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling before God. Quit trying to run each other down the road and help each other for once. It’s not that hard. By running him down, it doesn’t make you any better. Instead if makes you a hypocrite. At least Micheal is TRYING to help a lost and dying world.
