The Little Book Of Revelation 10

This end times deception study will focus on the Little Book of Revelation in Revelation 10.

The Apostle John is told to eat the Little Book, which would be sweet in his mouth, and then bitter in his stomach.

Pastor John MacArthur says that the Little Book caused John’s stomach to be bitter, because he became nauseated by the vision of the seal, trumpet and bowl judgments in store for the sinner.

Like most Pastors, he says that all of the events of Revelation 4 and beyond, will occur during an end times Great Tribulation period.

If you’ve read the Bible studies on this website, you know that the book of Revelation symbolically describes the history of Christ’s Church, from when it was written, until the Lord returns.

So let’s look at the context to see when the historical appearance of the Little Book occurred.

After 100 A.D., the O.T. Hebrew and N.T Greek manuscripts were collected in Antioch, Syria, where Christians formed one Bible.

Many hand-written copies were made in Antioch and were spread to the churches.

Satan countered by having philosophers in Alexandria, Egypt, such as a man named Origen, change the Syrian texts to fit their beliefs.

God had a people group called the Vaudois (who lived in the Alps) translate the Bible into Latin. The Old Latin Bible became known as the Vulgate (common) Bible, and it spread through the Roman empire and all the way to England before 200 AD.   The Vaudois missionaries risked death to share the Gospel.

Satan responded by having the Roman Catholic Church commission Jerome to write their own version, the Latin Vulgate in 405 AD..  Jerome followed Origen’s teachings, so the same corruptions occurred in this Bible.

The Catholic Church only allowed priests to read it and forbid lay people to read it.

The Seven Churches of Revelation are seven church eras that spanned from the 1st century until Jesus returns.

During the church era of Thyatira, which existed from 538-1514 A.D., the Papal Church systematically gathered copies of God’s true Word and burned them, and killed millions of heretics who possessed them.

This era is called the Dark Ages and one reason was that the light of the Word of God and Jesus church was being dimmed, as evil prevailed.

The Catholic Church persecuted people groups such as the Vaudois, the Waldenses and the Albigenses, who were used by God to preserve His Holy Word, preach the pure Gospel of Christ, and testify against the Antichrist Papal Church.

In 1229 at the Synod of Toulouse, the Catholic church forbid reading or owning a Vaudois Bible.

In 1234, at the Council of Tarragona, they declared that no Bible was permitted in one’s native language, and that all of them must be burned.

When God caused the Turks to cross the Euphrates to capture the fortress of Constantinople (1/3rd of Rome) during the 6th Trumpet of Revelation, some of the priests escaped and took with them the original Hebrew and Greek Bible manuscripts.

God had Wycliffe write the Bible in English, in 1371 A.D.

In 1408, at the 3rd Synod of Oxford, the Catholic Church proclaimed that it is a heresy to have an ‘unauthorized’ (preserved) English Bible.

The supposedly Christian Catholic Church was actually forbidding and burning the Word of God. Without it, the true church was in darkness, and the only teaching was from the Papal Church, who were not preaching the pure Word of God.

There was a famine for the word of God.

The Satan-empowered Catholic Church had burned so many copies of scripture and killed so many Christians, that in 1514 A.D., at the Fifth Lateran Council, the Papal Church proclaimed Christ’s Church to be dead.

You can see the battle between Jesus and Satan over the Word of God, and that’s the context of the Little Book of Revelation 10.

God responded by having William Tyndale print the Bible in English. The first complete edition of his New Testament was published in 1526  After his death in 1536 Tyndale’s works were revised and reprinted numerous times.

The Papal Church hated him for his Bible translation and captured him to kill him. As he was being burned to death at the stake, he cried out “Lord, open the King of England’s eyes.”

God responded by having King Henry VIII of England authorize the Great Bible in 1540, which was read aloud in church services of the Church of England. That may not seem like much now, but back then, it was unheard of.

Then in 1560, the Geneva Bible started to be printed.  This was the primary Bible of 16th century Protestantism. This version of the Holy Bible is significant because, for the very first time, a mechanically printed, mass-produced Bible was made available directly to the general public.

The Geneva Bible was printed in Roman type, and it was printed in more convenient and affordable sizes than earlier versions. Having it printed, instead of written, would have made it a Little Book.

All of this coincided with the advent of the printing press, and much to the dismay of the Papal Church, the word of God was spread around the world.

It allowed the Word of God to be read by millions, and it fueled the Protestant Reformation, where millions were saved. It led to the Great Awakening, where worldwide missions saved millions.

Now think back to when the Apostle John write the book of Revelation.  The word of God was on large hand-written scrolls.

Now visualize him seeing the entire canon, all of the O.T., along with the Gospels, the Epistles, etc. all in one ‘little book‘. 🙂

At the Council of Trent, the Papal Church declared that preserved Bibles are on the “Index of Forbidden Books.” (Rule III) The writings of William Wycliffe, Jan Hus, John Calvin and other reformers were condemned.

Then in 1604, King James commissioned a team of scholars to create the King James Version (KJV), commonly known as the Authorized Version (AV) for the Church of England, which was completed in 1611.

Much to the dismay of the Papal Church, Jesus’ Church of Sardis (which started in 1514 A.D.) devoured the Word of God, and spread the Gospel worldwide, causing millions to be saved by the pure Gospel of Jesus.

Revelation 10:9-10 “So I went to the angel and said to him, “Give me the little book.” And he said to me, “Take and eat it; and it will make your stomach bitter, but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth. Then I took the little book out of the angel’s hand and ate it, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth. But when I had eaten it, my stomach became bitter.”

“How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth!” Psalms 119:103

“Your words were found, and I ate them, And Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts.” Jeremiah 15:16

The act of eating the book symbolizes the absorbing and assimilating God’s Holy Word.

In order for God to raise up men during the Dark Ages, to fight against the enemy, they needed the Word of God, as it had been suppressed and nearly eliminated.

They were starving for the Word of God.  So they took the book and diligently pursued it, and with as much eagerness as a hungry man would eat a meal.  Luther did this by candlelight, and then he became a shining light in a dark world.

The Bible (God’s holy Word) is alive.  When we eat the Bible it gives us the strength to live victorious lives before the Lord. Studying the Bible is more important to our life than our daily bread.

The Word of God brought joy and rejoicing to their hearts, as they read the pure Gospel of Christ Jesus.

The Little Book represents the Word of God.

Revelation 10:11 “And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.”

Jesus is not saying the John would have to prophesy again, but in the context of the seven church eras of Revelation, it meant the next church era of Sardis, which indeed did prophecy before all the world.

Though the word of God had been hidden, and a mass of corrupt traditions had taken its place, yet the time would come when those pure truths would be made known again to all lands.

It was bitter because it brought the Reformers at once into conflict with all the power of the Papacy and the priesthood; exposed them to persecution; aroused against them a host of enemies among the princes and rulers of the earth.

The Papal Church responded by persecuting Jesus Church with the Inquisition, which was Satan’s excuse to murder millions of Christians and destroy their Bibles.

The Apostle John saw the Antichrist Catholic Church was drunk with their blood, which caused him to be filled with sorrow, grief and pain.

Sadly, we as the church era of Laodecia do not value the Word of God enough to study it diligently, so we rely on Pastors to teach us.

Prior to the written English Bible, they were starved and exposed to the deceptions of the Papal Church.

Today’s church is starved because it does not diligently study the Bible, so it is exposed to the deceptions of the Papal Church.

Personal reading and studying makes us strong. We are miserable, wretched, naked, poor and blind, because we have not the Word of God.

Prior to the written English Bible, they did not understand that the Roman Catholic Church is the Antichrist Beast.

Today, because Christians don’t make an effort to understand the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation, they do not understand that the Papal Church is the Antichrist Beast, who seeks to destroy us.

You can’t prophecy and testify about God’s truth and identify false prophets without the Word of God.

  3. David, the following shocking words of God and my interpretation to them in the first chapter ( How the Lamb became the Beast ) of my book, speak clearly and loudly like a thunder:
    ” When they had pasture, they were filled; they were filled and their heart was exalted; therefore they forgot Me. So I will be to them like a lion; like a leopard by the road I will lurk; I will meet them like a bear deprived of her cubs; I will tear open their rib cage, and there I will devour them like a lion. The wild beast shall tear them ” ( Hosea, 13:6-8 ).
    God speaks to Hosea for his spiritual people, the Christians. He says to him clearly that because his spiritual people had neglected the healthy faith, He himself would be transformed into this dreadful beast. The people would have been deceived, believing that the beast represented God upon the earth, and that the Christians would follow it, while in reality this would be a fabrication by the devil, a fake copy of the first Church.

  4. David, in my posts of 20th and 22nd of this month in the ABOUT page of your site, I gave to you two let say samples of the interpretation of prophecies about the Antichrist, which are included in my book.
    First, the meaning of the characteristics of the Beast of Revelation 13, i.e. why the Beast – Antichrist looks like these three wild animals : leopard, bear and lion, which are the three main dogma of the Christian Religion : Roman Catholic, Orthodox and Anglican.
    Second, the name of the Antichrist which gives the number 666, which is BENEDICT in greek ( the language in which the New Testament was originally written ) as follows : ΒΕΝΕΔΙΚΤΟΣ = 2+5+50+5+4+10+20+300+70+200 = 666. Τhere were sixteen Popes and one Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem ( 1957 – 1981 ) with this name.
    Thousands of books with interpretations and commentaries on prophecies about the Antichrist have been written until today, but you will not find the above interpretation in any of them ; an interpretation which gives without doubt the truth. You will find it only in the seven chapters of my book of only eleven pages. Glory be to God !

  6. David, the open little book of Revelation 10, is literally a little book. It is sweet in the mouth because it is the word of God and bitter in the stomach because it reveals a very bitter truth. There is no other truth which is more bitter than this one : Christian Religion is the Antichrist !

This story is wrong.First the little book is the Bibl,however it’s been robbed of it ever being called scripture ever again.I am of some importance to GOD and his Bible.I am GOD’S Corporal in his army.My mother’s maiden name was Bible.I was to at 40 yrs old on the year 5777 open my eyes to the Bible being robbed of the true WORD’S OF GOD for Satan’s lies printed in this little book for so long.GOD has brought judgement on the world mainly America with a working of error or strong delusion.That is where I come in because I’m the only one picking apart parts of this Bible and finding error in Mass print that no one else gets.Plus there never was 66 books in Bible.Acts and Jude should be removed from there.GOD Bless and believe on the Father and the SON each separate from each other. Salvation unto no other then on JESUS CHRIST the SON OF GOD not son of man.777

    • Well Garrett, I would say that your story is the one which is wrong! I’m not defending any particular Bible, such as the King James, but the Father clearly said that He would preserve His Word. The main point of the study is that the Bible was needed, because the antichrist Popes had banned and burned the Scriptures!

    Climax: Napoleon/”Holy” Roman Empire.

    -Red – Major war introduced into the world. End of Napoleon era -to- end of cold war.
    Climax: Hitler. (China mandatory red books, Russian “red” army)

    -Black – World wide economic collapse, we are in this time period now.
    Climax yet to happen? (2008 first “black” president, and, economic collapse!)

    -Grey – Deaths last moments of rage.
    Each period overlaps into the next ones, and historically connects like a puzzle.

    Revelation 19:11-21 – Christ rides on a white horse and defeats the anti-christ.
    Rev 1:8, 1:11, 22:13 – Christ is first and last!

    At this point in time it is self evident that the horses of Revelation 6 represent four distinct periods of time, not just people.
    Revelation is therefore like the book of Daniel, the same story is told multiple times but with different dreams/visions and increasing details.

        The seals represent four distinct periods of time. This is testified to us by time itself at this point, and also the books of Job and Ezekiel clearly foreshadow the same timeline. The following is a showing of that clear timeline which was foreshadowed via the Bible.

        Job 38:4 – God asks Job “Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth?” – God begins with creation, the first act in time, clearly signifying a “time” order to His words.

        Job 38:17 – “Have the gates of death been opened unto thee?” – Christ could say yes to that question, Job 38:17 clearly foreshadows the death and resurrection of Christ. If the first major act in time was creation, definitely the second major act in time was the death and resurrection of Christ.

        Job 38:22-23 “..treasures of the snow? … which I have reserved against …the day of battle and war?” – Hitlers loss was due largely to winter, this is a historical fact.
        In Job we have the same time periods seen in Revelation 6 foreshadowed clearly
        White Job 38:17, Red Job 38:22-23 Black Job 38:26-27.

        The book of Ezekiel does the same, much more clearly:
        White – Ezekiel 3:26-27{Matt 13:43 Christ}
        Red – Ezekiel 4:1-3{War!}
        Black – Ezekiel 4:9-17 {wheat, barley and famine just like Rev 6:5-6!}
        Grey – Ezekiel 5:17 and Revelation 6:8 clearly go hand in hand!

        Let us now move on to the verses in Revelation 6 keeping the above in mind and also noting historical events that have happened.

        Revelation 6:1-2 – Christ opens a seal, and a white horse goes out to conquer.
        Clearly from Revelation 5:5-8 we can conclude that after Christ died and rose again, then went up to heaven, that he then opened the seals. There is no reason for any delay, when Christ was on earth, His beginning message was – “Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 4:17. Everything becomes clear when we realize that the seals represent periods of time.

        Revelation 5:5-8 – The resurrected Christ is worthy to open the seals.
        Revelation 6:1-2 – Christ opens a seal.
        White horse period of time –
        Conquest of death -to- conquest and formation of all the worlds major countries
        Napoleon loved to be depicted riding on a white horse, historical fact!
        The last major war that Poland was in before Hitler, was against… Napoleon!
        During WW2, in a speech aimed at motivating the Russian masses, Stalin used the fact that Russia played a big part in defeating… Napoleon!

        The white horse period of time ended around the end of the Napoleon era.
        The major players in the red horse period, also faced those from the white horse period, each period thereby historically connecting like a puzzle!
        Each period is a multiple of 7 years!
        Christ in Matthew 24 clearly uses the same time order!

        White – (0-33) to 1827 {about 1820 years – 1820/7 = 260} conquest

        Red – 1827 to 1988 { 161 years 161/7 = 23!} war

        Black – 1988 to 2051 { 63 years 63/7 = 9!} economic trouble/famine

        Grey – The anti-Christ period of time { just 7 years! } death

        Things that made the red horse period of time very obvious –
        Russian army was called the “red” army!
        In China children were made to carry little red books about communism.
        Every flag of the major fighting countries had red as it prominent color.
        The cold war was against communism which was known as the “red” threat.
        Hitler – was literally Given some of his great speaking abilities by a Jewish mystic – historical fact! Revelation 6:4 “and there was Given him a great sword.” That the mouth/tongue is like a sword is throughout the Bible. Peace was taken from the world during Hitlers time – historical fact. Revelation 6:4, and they killed one another during Hitlers time – historical fact. It is very obvious that Hitler was the climax of the red horse period of time. The black horse period so far is proving to be rather obvious as well. In 2008 America got its first “black” president, and also, economic collapse! – Revelation 6:6 – “A measure of wheat for a days wages and a measure of barley for a days wages, and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.” – This verse fits very extremely well with the events of our current days. Oil (prices are dropping, it’s cheap now, yes?!), wine (marijuana/drugs becoming legal), and world-wide economic trouble is at the door, any reasonable economist would tell you so.

        Here is how Revelation 6:6 should be understood, and in my opinion the verse and time around us speak for itself, you can disagree with what is said here, but the Bible, time, and the Holy Spirit of God will reveal the truth to you.

        Understanding Revelation 6:6 –
        “A loaf of bread for 50 dollars and 3 loaves of wheat bread for 50 dollars, but keep the oil and wine affordable.” – This verse is currently happening, today, we are deep inside of the Black horse period of time, the climax has either happened already or will happen soon.

        And also why i believe my original short paragraph explains and proves it way better, these things can now be clearly seen in time, the Bible is true. –

        Revelation 1:8, 1:11 – Christ is always first and last.

        Therefore the book of revelation is like the book of Daniel, the same story is told multiple times but with different dreams/visions and increasing details. The seals are one telling, the trumpets another, 10-12 are details and an intermission, in 13 we get more details about the beast, the same one from the bottomless pit in chapter 9 (Rev 11:7, 17:8), the vials are yet another telling, but with different details. Ending off, just like in Daniel, with complete details about the very end in chapters 19-22. Because he had/knew of the book of Daniel, as John writes he is aware of these things, and therefore writes to that effect.

  14. WOW!!! I totally get it now….the “little book” in Revelation!!! It is the printed bible in the hands of the common people via the printing press at the time of Reformation thus quickly spreading worldwide….makes so much sense!! Good Work on this study.
