Pastor Chuck Baldwin On 70th Week of Daniel, Supporting Israel Follow Up

This End Times Deceptions Bible study features an update on the recent Facebook post from Pastor Chuck Baldwin about the 70th week of Daniel and the State of Israel.

Chuck posted on Facebook today:

A follow up to my last post on my shift in thinking regarding Eschatology:

I fully expected that there would be strong reactions against my studied decision denouncing dispensationalism, but the abject anger and hatred demonstrated by so many has further opened my eyes to the dangers of dispensationalism.

In the first place, since when has one’s personal views on Eschatology been considered a “fundamental” tenet of Christianity? The answer is NEVER.

Throughout the Church age, Bible scholars have expressed differences of opinion regarding Bible prophecy. Yet, historically, no Bible scholar that I am aware of (predating recent times especially) made the personal interpretation of prophecy a test of fellowship–or a test of one’s personal salvation and love for Christ.

Yet, here are some of the vitriolic things that dispensationalists have said to, or about, me since my last post:

“He forgot who Christ was.”
“He’s fallen away.”
“He’s a heretic.”
“He’s satanic.”
“You’re a racist.”
“His new found fleshly doctrine.”
“You want to make the Bible fit your political and fleshly desires.”
“He’s stumbled into darkness.”
“You are a cult member.”
“You are evil.”

Amazingly, in all of the decades that I preached and taught dispensational theology, I never had a post-millennialist or a mid-tribber or a post-tribber or an amillennialist or a preterist say ANYTHING remotely resembling the vicious attacks listed above.

But many dispensationalists attacked me with viper-like venom–all because of a disagreement on Bible prophecy.

Did I reject the authority of the Scriptures? No.
Did I reject the deity of Jesus Christ? No.
Did I reject the atoning death of Christ on the Cross? No.
Did I reject the resurrection of Jesus? No.
Did I reject Christ’s ascension? No.
Did I reject the Second Coming of Christ? No.
Did I reject salvation by grace through faith. No.

What this shows is the way dispensationalism has evolved in the minds and hearts of many Christians. To so many of them, dispensationalism (with all of the interpretations contained therein) is a FUNDAMENTAL tenet of the Christian faith. To them, denying dispensationalism is tantamount to denying Christ.

This helps me understand why so many adherents of dispensationalism have become so rabid in carrying out the tenets of dispensationalism into, not only their religious lives, but into their political lives as well. To these folks, political candidates and governmental policies are judged MOSTLY by dispensational philosophy–even to the point of putting the interests of a foreign nation (Israel) ABOVE the interests of our own country.

It’s as if the doctrine of dispensationalism trumps virtually ALL OTHER CHRISTIAN DOCTRINES–especially as it relates to politics.

it is so very clear to me now how the Neocons in Washington, D.C., have been able to so effectively manipulate so many Christian voters. And how they have convinced them to support endless wars of aggression in the Middle East. To dispensationalists, these wars comport with their understanding of Bible prophecy. (John Hagee is the worst offender on this point.) And how so many Christians have been duped into not resisting the unconstitutional, unlawful conduct of their own leaders–especially if the leader is perceived as supporting dispensational ideology. Never mind, that these actions contradict the totality of both Biblical and Natural Law.

It seems clear to me that we will NEVER see any significant improvement in national politics (much less our spiritual growth and understanding) until somehow, someway, the Christian Church is delivered from its infatuation with dispensationalism.

Even if one adheres to dispensationalist doctrine (as I did for so many years), to raise its importance to the level of those folks quoted above–and if this view is widely shared (as it appears now to be)–portends a very dangerous future for our country. And, sadly, if that happens, it will all have been a SELF-FULFILLING PROPHECY.

  1. Hi David, to me it seems pretty darn clear that what the Jesuits teach is not just a different eschatology…But quit clearly a doctrine of a demon! My past friends or so I thought they were, will literally shut down and refuse to speak because they think we are of the devil, I really do not care what a person has been indoctrinated with….but the utter refusal to even discuss what the Word says….Says it all…Be blessed my friend!

    • Hi Brian, yeah, I’m sure that sorcery is involved in the many deceptions from the Jesuit leaders. Sadly, most people’s minds as so programmed with the futuristic explanations through repetition, that they can’t conceive of another explanation and they shut you down. Keep pressing on for the glory of our King!

  2. Hi David,

I have some information about a new Bible that has commentaries with prophecy fulfillment in mind. Their view is I believe the same view as you and I have.

Daniel 12:9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

    Revelation 22:10
10 And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.

This is not my website below but it may help some since this FCB Bible (Fulfilled Covenant Bible) they translated and made preterist commentaries to match. You can download the Bible and Commentaries in PDF format for free or buy the hard copy bible for a nice price. I think you’ll like it, I do. Let me know what you think about it. I couldn’t find the link to the actual Bible in PDF but it’s in their website somewhere.

  3. What is an “Hageeite”? I am unfamiliar with the term. Early this morn, “Hageeite” came to mind within a dream. The dream scene appeared to be a forum not unlike the United Nations. Several languages were spoken. It ended with “Hageeite” and I think it referred to the woman I was seated next to in the dream. The woman was actively responding and monitoring the meeting via what appeared to be translation devices. Though she was a leader, she was not leading the meeting. I searched the term and came across your blog.

    • Deborah, Bob K had commented by saying “Hi my name is Bob, I was once a Hageeite. I taught dispensationalism from the Clarence Larkin, CR Scofield model.“, so that’s why you found this page.

A Hageeite is a follower of Pastor John Hagee, who is a deceiver about prophecy, about the Zionist state of Israel, and other things.

I’m not sure how he would fit into your vision, unless he was invited to talk at a forum, no doubt on behalf of Israel.

      I hope that helps,
      David

I taught dispensationalism from the Clarence Larkin, CR Scofield model.

A friend of mine challenged my view point and after some careful prayerful examination of Daniel 9 with Matthew 26 i now see that Jesus has already confirmed the covenant with “many in the midst of the week”
Thank you for also for pointing out the Political manipulation that is going on by the false misconception that Israel is Gods Time clock.
There is nothing left to be fulfilled other than… ‘go yo into all the world and preach the gospel’

  5. I wouldn’t worry about it because it’s all about the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ and what he did for us.

    You can to http://basicgospel.net/radio/

to hear Non-Judgmental answers to people’s question about the gospel from their daily radio show. Why worry about something that hasn’t happened yet and it’s been almost 2,000 years and still counting. The big question is: Has everybody you know been resurrected from death to life by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit by believing in the name of Jesus Christ and the forgiveness he gave the World paving the way for us the receive the free gift of Salvation?

  6. Hi there.
I would just like to say that I have experienced similar reactions from Dispensationalist’s on voicing my support for Preterism. Instead of addressing the scripture they have found it necessary to turn it into a personal attack on my person and lack of credibility.

I have also been called anti Semitic, and when pointing out to those same people, that the torah Jews themselves also denounce the scriptural basis for the formation of Israel they just blindly state that they are self hating Jews

I find it amazing how human nature reacts as though being physically attacked when a different paradigm is being highlighted.

I enjoy reading your posts keep up the good work, you are a breath of fresh air in a world full of narrow mindedness

      • Hi David.

I am aware of Dr. Eran Elhaik and his study, and like yourself have posted the same information to people whom I thought would be open minded and interested parties. Boy was I in for a rude awakening!!!!

Human nature being what it is, does not adapt well to change, despite how long we have believed a particular thing. In some cases it is to do with pride, and in other cases it would mean breaking ties/friendships with people who have similar views to what we had prior to changing ours

I am currently studying the topic of the trinity and must say that it isn’t looking good for the trinity view at this stage.

        Thanks for the encouragement

        • Hi Sheila ๐Ÿ™‚ Most Christians are not open-minded at all when it comes to the Jews and Israel. They are going to be shocked when they stand before their Messiah. When Messiah said that family and friends would be divided over the truth, He was not kidding.

Earlier this year I was led to complete a study series called The Falling Away of 2 Thessalonians 2, which happened in the 4th century when Roman Bishops and Emperor Constantine created the Roman religion of Christianity. It deceives Catholics and also Protestants.

One study that I have not completed for that series is on the trinity. I’ve come to the conclusion that the Spirit is not 1/3rd of the Godhead, but is the Father’s Spirit, which can only be given to those who come through the Son. Here is that study series http://christianitybeliefs.org/end-times-deceptions/the-falling-away/

Some manuscripts do not include all of 1 John 5:7 “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” KJV

Verse 8 in the KJV says “And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.”

The ISR 98 verse 7 reads “Because there are three who bear witness:” Verse 8 “the Spirit, and the water, and the blood. And the three are in agreement.” So it leaves out “the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one” part, because it is not in the manuscripts.

You’re welcome to let me know about any insight on the trinity view.

          Blessings to you!
          David

  7. As many Christians as I spoke to about this issue including my own flesh and blood brother they all don’t want to believe the Truth, but I don’t put them down I just keep them in prayer in hopes God will open their eyes at some point in time, we are certainly in the ‘Luke warm’ times.

    • The deception is grand Jim. We obey Torah out of love for our Messiah, not to earn salvation. Observing the Holy Feast Days, which Messiah is fulfilling to redeem His bride, is not burdensome. Observing the Sabbath is for our benefit. We should want to do all of those things out of adoration of what our Messiah has done for us. ๐Ÿ™‚
