King Ahab was a pivotal figure, and the Bible says of him “He did evil in the Lord’s sight, even more than any of the kings before him.”<\/p>\n

He married Jezebel, who was the princess daughter of Ethbaal Canaanite king if Tyre and Sidon, and priest of Astarte, which increased the worship of idols.<\/p>\n

Jezebel didn’t want to just add idol worship, she wanted domination over the beliefs about God and sought to have the prophets killed.<\/p>\n

Satan was trying to create the same structure in Israel as he had in Babylon with Nimrod and Semiramus, and the worship of the Sun and Moon gods.<\/p>\n
