Bible Translation Comparison And Deception

The debate about the most accurate bible translation is typically focused on which ancient manuscripts were used and which ones are valid, and this page will cover some of those facts.

But those concepts typically confuse people so much that they don’t pursue
the matter any further, and they just blindly trust their pastors and teachers.

Instead, we’re going to look at the scriptures side by side, to help you see how the differences form a DECEPTIVE PATTERN, so that you can discern the truth.

Would you agree that if all versions of the Bible were true to God’s spoken Word, then we would expect to find them in agreement?

They should just use more modern language while conveying the same message.

So let me ask you a question.

Would you use a Bible version if you discovered that it had changed some verses to:

  • remove Jesus name
  • remove Jesus as the ‘only begotten Son’
  • switch the name of Lucifer and Jesus
  • remove proof that Jesus is God
  • remove validation of the virgin birth
  • remove that our redemption is through Jesus blood
  • remove proof of the Holy Trinity
  • and remove proof that you have eternal life in Jesus

Review the list, keeping in mind that these are the foundational tenants of our Christian faith.

So would you read and study from that Bible?

Sadly, the modern versions of the Bible like the NIV do all of those things and more, and this study will show you the key verses side by side, so that you can see for yourself.

The NIV has removed 17 entire verses, and major portions of at least 147 verses!

The NIV removes a total of 64,576 words, which is 8% of God’s word.

The NIV removes wonderful Bible “terms” like Jehovah, Godhead, remission, regeneration,
impute and propitiation.

And now the newly updated 2011 NIV Bible has been changed to be ‘politically correct’ and ‘gender neutral’.

So they do much more than make the Bible easier to read, they change the truths of God, which is deception.

And this is exactly what Satan wants, as he is the father of all lies.  He seeks to misrepresent what God said, just like he did in the garden of Eden. He has caused men to write alternative versions of the Bible, which change the meanings of the words, and leave out entire verses.

He seeks to confuse Christians and create divisions in the church; to destroy Christianity;
and to cause unbelievers to dismiss the Bible as the authoritative Word of God.

By having different versions that conflict with one another, people don’t understand why
they should believe that the Bible is the Word of God and not the words of men.

And when they remove the deity of Jesus, his redeeming blood sacrifice and the Holy Trinity, they remove Christians ability to prove that these things are true.

This most accurate Bible translation study will compare the King James and the New International Version, but most modern versions of the Bible make the same errors as the NIV.

If you read the ESV, RSV or any other Bible version, simply read each verse in your Bible,
to see if it makes the same mistakes.

You might want to print this Bible verse study for easier reading, and so that you
get the full impact of how much of God’s Word has been changed and deleted.

If you don’t read the whole article, please read the first few sections to see how the NIV removed Jesus as the only begotten Son, and how it removes the Holy Trinity and your assurance of eternal life in Jesus

KJV vs NIV: The NIV removes the name of Jesus 38 times

Here’s some examples:

In Acts 8:37, the NIV removed this verse where the Ethiopian Eunich professed his faith in Jesus Christ.

KJ – “And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”

NIV –

In 1 Corinthians 16:22, they removed the name of ‘Jesus Christ’

KJ – “If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha.”

NIV – “If anyone does not love the Lord – a curse be on him. Come, O Lord

There are many Christ’s, but we are reconciled by Jesus Christ.

In 2 Corinthians 5:18, it removed the name of ‘Jesus’

KJ – “And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation

NIV – “All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation

In Galations 4:7, they removed that we are heirs of God ‘through Christ’

KJ – “Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.”

NIV – “So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir.”

In Galations 6:15, they removed that it is ‘Christ Jesus’ who circumcises our heart

KJ – “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.”

NIV – “Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; what counts is a new creation.”

In Ephesians 3:9, they removed Jesus as the creator, which makes Jesus eternal and equal to God. The NIV removes Jesus from the verse and only says that ‘God created all things’, which removes a proof-text that Jesus is God.

KJ – “And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ.”

NIV – “and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things.”

Phillipians 4:13, they removed the source of our power, ‘Christ’

KJ – “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

NIV – “I can do everything through him who gives me strength.”

Revelation 1:11, they removed Jesus title of ‘Alpha and Omega, the first and the last’

KJ – “Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches.

NIV – “which said: Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches

KJV vs NIV: The NIV deceives you by switching the name of Jesus and Lucifer

The KJ accurately reports that Lucifer fell from heaven and was cut down.  With an unbelievable slight of hand, the NIV removed Lucifer and replaced him with ‘Morning Star’.

Isaiah 14:12 KJ says “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

Isaiah 14:12 NIV says “How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!

But Jesus is the Morning Star

Revelation 22:16 KJ says “I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.”

This either gives Lucifer the title of the Morning Star, which belongs to the Lord Jesus.

Or it inserts Jesus as the person who fell from heaven and was cut down to the ground.

Whether it elevates Lucifer or denigrates the Lord Jesus, it is wrong and you should reject the NIV and the modern translations which deceive you about Lucifer.

How can God’s anointing be on translations of the Bible that tamper with the Lord Jesus being the only begotten Son of God, and then remove Lucifer and replaced him with a title for the Lord Jesus?

This is the major reason why so many Christians today are powerless.

John 1:1 says that ‘Jesus is the Word of God’.  When men change the meaning of the words of God and delete verses, they change the perception of Jesus and delete the proofs that He is God.

The power lies in the King James Bible, the true Words of God.

Here are more verses that attack the central elements and tenets of our faith in the Lord Jesus.

KJV vs NIV: The NIV removes the Holy Trinity and your assurance of eternal life in Jesus

1 John 5:7 is probably one of the most controversial verses in the Bible. The reason is that all the modern translations, except the New King James, remove this verse.

Here’s a hint why: Lucifer doesn’t want to confirm the Holy Trinity, or that we have eternal life in the Jesus.

Jesus states Lucifer’s goal in regard to His Word in Luke 8:12 “…then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.”

In 1 John 5:10, God strongly states that anyone who does not believe the record that He gave of His Son in verse 7, makes God a liar.  “He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. ”

In 1 John 5:11, God clearly confirms the ‘record’ of what He stated in verse 7, “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.”

If verse 7 is removed, then the record of agreement by the Godhead in heaven is also removed! Verse 7 is not a mere proof of the Trinity, it is really a proof that believers have total assurance of eternal life, when they are in the Son of God! God bears record in heaven that we have eternal life!

How dare these modern translations tamper with 1 John 5:7, as they tamper with the actual record in heaven that I have eternal life through my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is probably the strongest verse in all the Bible for the assurance of eternal life in the Blessed Redeemer.

KJV vs NIV: The NIV removed several significant parts of The Lord’s Prayer

In the Luke’s recording of the Lord’s Prayer in Luke 11:2, these passages have been removed in the NIV:

– ‘which art in heaven’ (They don’t want you to believe that there’s a heaven)
– ‘Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth’
– ‘but deliver us from evil’ (they don’t want you to pray against evil, because Lucifer is evil)

Luke 11:2 KJ – “And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. Give us day by day  our daily bread. And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.”

Luke 11:2 NIV – “He said to them, “When you pray, say: “‘Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation.”

In Matthews recording of The Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6:9-13, they also removed:

– ‘Our father’
– ‘For thing is the power and the glory, forever, amen’

The NIV butchered the Lord’s Prayer.  Do you still want to read it?

KJV vs NIV: The NIV implies that Joseph is the biological father of Jesus

In Luke 2:43, the KJ shows that Joseph is not Jesus biological father when it says “Joseph and his(Jesus) mother”, which is peculiar and implies a separation. The NIV says “his parents”, which implies that Joseph is his father.

KJ “And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.”

NIV “After the Feast was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it.

IN Luke 2:33 the same implication is found in Luke 2:33, only this time it directly calls Joseph the father of Jesus, which removes the virgin birth.

KJ – “And Joseph and his mother marveled at those things which were spoken of him.”

NIV-  “The child’s father and mother marveled at what was said about him.”

KJV vs NIV: The NIV removes the statement that God was manifest in the flesh in Jesus

1 Timothy 3:16 links God to all the things that Jesus accomplished on Earth, thereby equating Jesus with God in the flesh. We all appear in a body, so there’s nothing great about that.  But God manifesting Himself in the flesh, that’s supernatural.

KJ-  “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory

NIV – “Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great: He appeared in a body, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory

KJV vs NIV: The NIV removes a proof of Jesus in the Old Testament

In Daniel 3:25 , the NIV removes Jesus as the person in the fiery furnace with his faithful servants Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.  There is a big difference between ‘Son of God’ and ‘son of the gods’, and it removes Jesus appearance in the Old Testament.

KJ – ” He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God

NIV  – “He said, Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.”

KJV vs NIV: The NIV changes Satan’s destiny from hell to the grave

In Isaiah 14:15, the NIV changes the word ‘hell‘ to ‘grave‘.  We all go to the grave! Why doesn’t the NIV want Satan in hell, where he belongs?

KJ – “Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. “

NIV – “But you are brought down to the grave, to the depths of the pit. “

KJV vs NIV: The NIV removes the harsh reality of those who reject God.

In Psalm 9:17, the NIV changes the destiny of the wicked from ‘hell‘ to ‘grave‘.

KJ – “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.”

NIV – “The wicked return to the grave, all the nations that forget God. “

KJV vs NIV: The NIV removes that Jesus was worthy to be worshiped

Worshiping someone means they are worthy of the worship.  Kneeling before someone does not imply the same thing.

In Matthew 8:2 the leper worshiped Jesus

KJ – “And, behold, there came a leper and worshiped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

NIV – “A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”

In Matt 9:18 a Ruler came and worshiped Jesus

KJ – “While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.

NIV – “While he was saying this, a ruler came and knelt before him and said, “My daughter has just died. But come and put your hand on her, and she will live.”

In Matthew 15:25 a Gentile woman from Canaan worshiped Jesus

KJ – “Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.”

NIV – “The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said.”

IN Matthew 20:20 the mother of the disciples John and James worshiped Jesus.

KJ – “Then came to him the mother of Zebedee’s children with her sons, worshiping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.”

NIV – “Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons came to Jesus with her sons and, kneeling down, asked a favor of him.”

In Mark 5:6  even the Demon-possessed man in Gadarenes worshiped Jesus even before the demons were cast out of him.

KJ – “But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshiped him.”

NIV – “When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him.”

KJV vs NIV: The NIV removes the proof-text that Jesus is God

Verses like 1 John 3:16 show that Jesus is God. When a verse references God and then says ‘he’ (indicating Jesus), it confirms that Jesus is God.  But when it is changed to just say Jesus, it removes the proof-text that he is God.

KJ – “Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. “

NIV – “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.”

KJV vs NIV: The NIV took away judgment from Jesus

In Romans 14:10 the NIV verse removes another proof-text that Jesus is God, and that He will be our judge.

KJ – “But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

NIV – “You, then, why do you judge your brother? Or why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat.”

KJV vs NIV: The NIV removes Jesus as THE Great God

In Titus 2:13 ‘Our great god‘ implies that it’s true for Christians but not for all the world, as someone may believe their great god is Mohammed. But ‘the great God‘ implies that Jesus is THE one and only.

Whether you accept him as your Savior or not, he IS the great God.

KJ – “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ

NIV- “while we wait for the blessed hope – the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ

KJV vs NIV: The NIV removes the teaching of Jesus as the only begotten son of God

There is one doctrine that all the others rest upon. It is the rock bottom, foundation of the Christian faith: Jesus of Nazareth is the only begotten Son of God.

Without this core belief, all the others are meaningless. Christianity stands upon the person of Jesus of Nazareth as the only begotten Son from eternity past and into the future forever.

He is unique because He is the only begotten Son of God. Any tampering with this doctrine touches the very foundation of our faith.

There are five key verses from the Holy Bible, Authorized King James Version (KJV), which show clearly that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God.

These verses reveal that the Lord Jesus was begotten of the Father. He was from the bosom of the Father.

You must believe on the name of the ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD for eternal life.
He was sent into this world from heaven as the only begotten Son of God.

Your eternal life depends on it, so the importance of this doctrine cannot be overstated.

The Bible reveals God has other sons:

  • Believers in Jesus are called the sons of God but through adoption.
  • Adam was called the son of God.
  • God gave the angels the title of the sons of God.
  • Israel became God’s son
  • and Solomon sat on the throne of Israel as the son of God.

However, the Lord Jesus remains distinguished from all these sons of God.

He is singular and unique as the ‘only begotten Son of God’ with the Father from eternity.
He has a different relationship with the Father.

Any tampering with the Lord as the only begotten Son of God would just make Him one of many sons of God in the Bible.

Each verse includes an explanation from the Vines Complete Expository Dictionary.

John 1:14

KJ – “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”

NIV – “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

Vines – the phrase ‘the only begotten of the Father‘ indicates that as the Son of God, He is the sole representative of the Being and character of the One who sent Him. ‘the only begotten’ when used of the Son, is in the sense of unoriginated relationship. The begetting is not an event of time, however remote, but a fact irrespective of time. The Christ did not become, but necessarily and eternally is the Son. He, a Person, possesses every attribute of the pure Godhood.

John 1:18

KJ – “No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.”

NIV – “No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the Father’s side, has made him known.”

Vines – the clause ‘the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Fatherexpresses both His eternal union with the Father in the Godhead and the ineffable intimacy and love between them, the Son sharing all the Father’s counsels and enjoying all His affections.

John 3:16

KJ – “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

NIV – “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Vines – the statement ‘God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son‘ must not be taken to mean that Christ became the only begotten son by incarnation. The value and the greatness of the gift lay in the Sonship of Him who was given. His Sonship was not the effect of His being given.

John 3:18

KJ – “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

NIV – “Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”

Vines -the phrase ‘the name of the only begotten Son of God‘ lays stress upon the full revelation of God’s character and will, His love and grace, as conveyed in the name of One who, being in a unique relationship to Him, was provided by Him as the object of faith.

1 John 4:9

KJ – “In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.” (Notice how He was sent into the world from eternity as the only begotten Son of God)

NIV – “This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.”

Vines – the statement ‘God sent his only begotten Son into the world‘ does not mean that God sent out into the world one who at His birth in Bethlehem had become His Son.

What does “One and Only” mean? One and only what?

The Lord Jesus is not God’s only Son: this is false as God has many sons. He is God’s only begotten Son and thus unique. It is obvious that the modern translations have tampered with the very foundation of Christianity.

Using the NIV, you cannot even prove that the Lord Jesus is the only begotten Son of God! Therefore, the NIV fails to substantiate the very foundation of the faith.

The NIV and most modern translations are leading people away from the foundation of the faith!

It is a subtle but diabolic shift away from historic Christianity towards a generic Jesus that can fit in nicely with other beliefs.

In John 1:14,18 the words “begotten and Son” are left out, while John 3:16,18 and 1 John 4:9 are false as they remove “only begotten” and say “God’s only Son.”

These translations are illegitimate. The modern versions have to be rejected as they are deficient and lack the ability to even prove the very foundation of the faith. These translations are leading believers away from the true person of the Lord Jesus.

If you have the NIV, then you DON’T have the only begotten son of God.

You’ve seen how the meaning of words have been changed in the NIV, but now we will look at how many words have been deleted.

Despite God’s clear warnings about “taking away” from His words, the NIV removes 64,576 words, which is over 8 percent of God’s word.

Deuteronomy 4:2 reads: “Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.”

The NIV removes major portions of at least 147 verses!

Here’s a small sampling of verses where words have been removed in the NIV!

In Matthew 5:44, the NIV removes part of Jesus command regarding how we should treat our enemies.

KJ – “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;”

NIV – “But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,”

In Matthew 9:13, the NIV removes that sinners must repent.

KJ – “But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

NIV – “But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

In Matthew 19:9, the NIV removed the fact that someone who marries an adulterer is also an adulterer.

KJ – “And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

NIV- “I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery.”

In Matthew 20:7 the NIV removed “and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive”, meaning you will receive what the Lord says is fair.

KJ – “They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive

NIV – “‘Because no one has hired us,’ they answered. “He said to them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard.'”

In Matthew 20:16 they removed the fact that many are called, but few chosen

KJ – “So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen. “

NIV – “So the last will be first, and the first will be last.”

Matthew 20:22, the NIV removes “and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with”

KJ – “But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.”

NIV – “”You don’t know what you are asking,” Jesus said to them. “Can you drink the cup I am going to drink?” “We can,” they answered. “

In Matthew 25:13, the NIV removes ‘wherein the Son of man cometh’

KJ – “Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh

NIV – “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.”

In Matthew 27:35, the NIV removes a reference  to an Old Testament prophecy being fulfilled, thereby removing another validation that the Bible is the inspired Word of God.

KJ – “And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.”

NIV – “When they had crucified him, they divided up his clothes by casting lots.”

In Mark 6:11, the NIV removes Jesus judgment against the cites where the disciples witnessed to the Jews.

KJ – “And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.”

NIV – “And if any place will not welcome you or listen to you, shake the dust off your feet when you leave, as a testimony against them.”

In Mark 10:21, the NIV removes that one must ‘take up the cross’ to be saved:

KJ – “Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

NIV – “Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

In Mark 10:24, the NIV removed Jesus words that it’s hard for ‘them that trust in riches’ to enter into the kingdom

Lucifer is the God of Mammon/Money, so he doesn’t want you to know this.

KJ – “And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!”

NIV – “The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said again, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God!”

In Luke 4:4 , the NIV removed that ‘man shall live by every word of God’.

Do the NIV translators seriously think the Lord Jesus Christ does not know the verse He was referencing Deuteronomy 8:3?

KJ – “And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. “

NIV – “Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone.”

In Luke 4:8, the NIV removes “get thee behind me Satan”

KJ – “And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.”

NIV – “Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.'”

In Luke 4:18, the NIV removed ‘he hath sent me to heal the broken hearted‘.

Jesus ministry to the brokenhearted is a healing balm to hurting people to give them instant hope, and Luke 4:18 is the only verse that speaks this truth.

KJ – “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised

NIV – “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed

In Luke 9:56, the NIV removes that Jesus came to Earth to save men’s lives.

KJ – “For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them. And they went to another village. “

NIV – “and they went to another village.”

In this passage they removed the thief’s profession of faith in Jesus as Lord

In Luke 23:42  the thief on the cross next to Jesus called upon the name of the Lord and was saved.  The NIV removed his profession of faith in recognizing Him as Lord.

KJ – “And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.”

NIV – “Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”

In John 1:27, the NIV removes John the Baptist proclamation that Jesus is worthy of their worship, not Him.

KJ – “He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe’s latchet I am not worthy to unloose.”

NIV – “He is the one who comes after me, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.”

In John 3:13, the NIV removed ‘Jesus, the Son of Man, is in heaven’, which again removes a proof-text that Jesus is God.

KJ – “And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.”

NIV – “No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven – the Son of Man.”

In John 3:15, the NIV removed that we who believe in Jesus ‘should not perish

KJ – “That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.”

NIV – “that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.”

In John 11:41, the NIV removed ‘from the place where the dead was laid‘, which confirmed that Lazarus was indeed dead.

KJ – “Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.”

NIV – “So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. “

In this passage they deleted that Jesus was going to be with the Father

In John 16:16 the NIV removes the text that says Jesus is going to be with His Father, which verifies that He is God.

KJ – “A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.”

NIV – “In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me.”

In Acts 15:18, the NIV changed “the beginning of the world‘ which is eternal, to that have been known for ages, which is just old.

KJ – “Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.”

NIV – “that have been known for ages.”

In Romans 8:1, the NIV removed ‘who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit

KJ – “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”

NIV – “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus

In Romans 13:9, the NIV removed ‘Thou shalt not bear false witness

KJ – “For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”

NIV – “The commandments, “Do not commit adultery,” “Do not murder,” “Do not steal,” “Do not covet,” and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

In 1 Corinthians 5:7, the NIV removes that Christ was sacrificed ‘for us’.

KJ – “Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us

NIV – “Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a new batch without yeast – as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed

In 1 Corinthians 6:20, the NIV removed ‘and in your spirit which are God’s’

KJ – “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

NIV – “you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.”

In I Corinthians 10:28, the NIV removed that the ‘Earth is the Lord’s’.

KJ – “But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof

NIV – “But if anyone says to you, “This has been offered in sacrifice,” then do not eat it, both for the sake of the man who told you and for conscience’ sake

In I Corinthians 11:24, the NIV removed that ‘Jesus body was broken for us’.

KJ – “And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.”

NIV – “and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.”

This passage removes the title of ‘Lord’ from Jesus, the second man; removing his deity

1 Corinthians 15:47. The first man is Adam, the second man is the Lord Jesus.  By removing Lord, the NIV removes proof of His deity.

KJ – “The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.”

NIV – “The first man was of the dust of the earth, the second man from heaven.”

In II Corinthians 10:4, the NIV removed that our warfare is ‘but mighty through God

KJ – “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds

NIV – “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. “

In Galatians 3:1, the NIV removed “that you should not obey the truth” from Paul’s admonishment that salvation is by faith alone, not works.

KJ – “O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?”

NIV – “You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified.

In Ephesians 5:30, the NIV removed that we are of Jesus flesh and bones.

KJ – “For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

NIV – “for we are members of his body.

Here they removed Jesus blood as our redemption for forgiveness of sins.

Colossians 1:14 says that our salvation is through the righteous blood of Jesus, but the NIV removes that link.

KJ – “In whom we have redemption through His blood, [even] the forgiveness of sins

NIV – “in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins

In 1 Timothy 6:5, the NIV removed the command for us to withdraw ourselves from men who have corrupt minds and are void of the truth.

KJ – “Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. “

NIV – “and constant friction between men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.

In Hebrews 7:21, the NIV removed the Old Testament reference to Jesus being a priest “after the order of Melchisedec”

KJ – “For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec

NIV – “but he became a priest with an oath when God said to him: “The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind: ‘You are a priest forever.'”

In 1 Peter 1:22, the NIV removed that the purification of your soul happens “through the Spirit”

KJ – “Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

NIV – “Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from the heart.”

I John 4:3, the NIV removes the Jesus ‘is come in the flesh’, which effectively removes the proof-text that Jesus is God in the flesh.”

KJ – “And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world

NIV – “but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.”

In Revelation 5:14, the NIV removed the eternal nature of Jesus

KJ – “And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshiped him that liveth for ever and ever.”

NIV – “The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped. “

In Revelation 21:24, the NIV removed the qualifier “of them which are saved”

KJ – “And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.”

NIV – “The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it.”

Do you really want to read a Bible version that violates Jesus warning?

In Revelation 22:19 Jesus said “And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”

This verse states if ANYONE removes words from the Bible, God will remove that person’s name from the Book of Life. I believe that this warning is not limited to the Book of Revelation but the entire Bible.

The following verses have simply been removed.  You can click on the Bible.cc links to see it for yourself.

In Matthew 18:11, the NIV removed a confirmation the Jesus came to save the lost.

Matthew 18:11 KJ – “For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.”
http://bible.cc/matthew/18-11.htm

In Acts 8:37, the NIV removed a profession of faith, that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Acts 8:37 KJ – “And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” http://bible.cc/acts/8-37.htm

In Matthew 17:21, the NIV removed how to remove strong demonic spirits

Matthew 17:21 KJ – “However, this kind goes not out but by prayer and fasting.”
http://bible.cc/matthew/17-21.htm

In Matthew 18:11, the NIV removed the fact that Jesus came to save the lost.

Matthew 18:11 KJ – “For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.”
http://bible.cc/matthew/18-11.htm

In Matthew 23:14, the NIV removed Jesus condemnation of the Jewish leaders

Matthew 23:14 KJ – “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.”
http://bible.cc/matthew/23-14.htm

In Mark 9:44, the NIV removed the eternal damnation of those who reject Jesus

Mark 9:44 KJ – “Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched
http://bible.cc/mark/9-44.htm

In Mark 11:26, they removed God’s conditional forgiveness of your sins.

Mark 11:26 KJ – “But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.” http://bible.cc/mark/11-26.htm

In Mark 15:28, the NIV removed a prophecy about how Jesus would die, which confirms the validity of the Bible.

Mark 15:28 KJ – “And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors.” http://bible.cc/mark/15-28.htm

Question: Aren’t some of these things included in the NIV in the footnotes?

Answer: That is not the same as including them in the text. When the reader sees these passages have been moved to the footnotes, he or she will assume that they are probably not really part of God’s Word. After all, the translators did not include them in the text, but simply implied that “some” manuscripts include them. What they are not told is that the vast majority of texts used by the early church included these words.

The NIV also adds notes that complete sections aren’t referenced in all of the manuscripts.
Of course, these sections are some of the most important in the Bible.

In Mark 16:9-20, the footnote in the NIV says “The most reliable early manuscripts and other ancient witnesses do not have Mark 16:9-20”

These just happen to be the eyewitness accounts of the resurrected Jesus and his ascension into heaven.

In John 7:53-8:11, the footnote in the NIV says “The earliest and most reliable manuscripts and other ancient witnesses do not have John 7:53-8:11”

This is the passage where the Jewish leaders intentionally caught a woman in the act of adultery and brought her to Jesus, who did not condemn her, but convicted them of their own sins.

In Matthew 21:44, the NIV says “Some manuscripts do not have Matthew 21:44”

This passage states that those Jewish leaders who stumble and fall over the cornerstone of Jesus, will be broken to pieces.

Matthew 21:44 KJ – “He who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, but he on whom it falls will be crushed.

In Luke 22:43-44, the NIV says “Some early manuscripts do not have Luke 22:43-4”

This removes the intense suffering of Jesus BEFORE He faced the physically tormenting crucifixion, the emotionally heart-wrenching of being rejected by those he created, and spiritual weight of taking on the sins of the world.

Luke 22:43-44 KJ – “And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.”

The publishers deception used to promote the NIV

Deception #1 – The NIV “just” updates the “archaic” words and makes it “easier to understand”. Nothing is “really changed.

Truth: The NIV removes some verses that confirm the deity of Jesus Christ.

Deception #2 – The NIV is easier to read and understand.

Truth: According to a Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level research study, The King James Bible is by far the easiest!

Deception #3 – Older and more reliable manuscripts have been discovered since the King James Bible.

Truth: Dr. Sam Gipp writes, “The fact is, that the King James translators had ALL OF THE READINGS available to them that modern critics have available to them today.” (The Answer Book, Gipp, p.110)

Deception #4 – The NIV is more accurate.

Truth: The KJB is a literal word for word translation. When the translators had to add words for sentence structure they are in italics.

The NIV uses “dynamic equivalence”. Rather than a word for word translation, they add, change and subtract to make the verse say what they “thought” it should! The Preface to the NIV even says, “. . .they have striven for more than a word-for-word translation. . .”

.

Why would publishers print so many different Bible versions?

The King James Bible is the ONLY Bible that is not OWNED by men!

That’s right! The King James Bible has no Copyright ownership and it can be published by anyone, anytime, with no need to ask for permission!

So if you’re a publisher and you want to have exclusive copyrights to maximize your profits, you have to produce new versions of the Bible, such as the NIV.

Lucifer seeks to deceive Christians and non-believers, and the modern versions of the Bible only serve to confuse people.

By having different versions that conflict with one another, people don’t understand why they should believe that the Bible is the Word of God and not the words of men.

And when they remove the deity of Jesus, his redeeming blood sacrifice and the Holy Trinity, they remove Christians ability to prove that these things are true.

Some parting thoughts about the best Bible translation

Bible distributors make it seem like the King James is hard to read, so you should get their ‘easy to read‘ versions. Only you end up understanding words that aren’t from God.

The Holy Spirit enlightens and gives us understanding, not a modern version with their paraphrasing and interpretations.

Learn the language of the true Bible.

In Psalm 12:6-7, God promised to preserve His Word forever.

The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.”

As you’ve seen from the above study, the KJ and NIV are vastly different in meaning.  Since God is not the God of confusion (1 Cor. 14:33), all translations cannot be His Word.

Ecclesiastes 8:4 says “Where the word of a king is, there is power“, and the KJ was translated under a God-ordained King.  In fact, the king’s name was “James,” which is the English word for “Jacob,” whom God renamed “Israel,” because he had power with God and with men.

Modern translators don’t believe that the Word of God is infallible

So they approach the scriptures with skepticism, saying “Yea, hath God said?”, much like the serpent said to Eve in the garden of Eden.

A person who lacks faith in God’s word is in no condition to translate it.

The King James translators believed that they were handling the very words of God. They didn’t set out to ‘judge’ or ‘correct’ the word of God.

They simply sought to translate God’s word for the English speaking people, as they were told to do by their appointed King.

Jesus said to search the scriptures, because they testify about Him

The True Word of God will always EXALT Jesus Christ, and reveal the doctrines which testify about His virgin birth, His blood atonement, His bodily resurrection and His deity.

The modern versions testify AGAINST Jesus, as they have removed the very texts that prove those tenants of the Christian faith.

If you don’t have a Bible that proves that Jesus is God’s ‘only begotten Son’, that Jesus is God, that He was born of a virgin, that His blood bought our redemption, that He is our judge, and that He is part of the Holy Trinity.

Then you don’t have the Jesus of the Bible!

Today’s church is powerless because there is a famine for the true words of God

Many Christian leaders have switched to the NIV, because seminary did not teach them the truth about which version is true to God’s words.

Matthew 13:24-25 says, “The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.”

Luke 8:11 explains, “Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.”

Lucifer has planted tares amongst the Word of God, and so deceives pastors and their followers.

Millions of Christians who read the NIV are not getting the true words of God, so they are powerless.

The modern translations are like eating food that is devoid of minerals, vitamins and enzymes.  It might look like food, but it contains nothing to sustain life.

Amos 8:11 foretold this, “Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD

So many people are spiritually weak and powerless, and have no idea that they are feeding on translations that lack power.

Zondervan publishes the NIV and their parent company publishes The Satanic Bible

Zondervan is owned by HarperCollins, who publishes ‘The Satanic Bible‘ and ‘Satanic Rituals‘,
so apparently they’re in it for the money, not because they are defenders of the faith.

HarperCollins also publishes books on Spirit Guides, Magick Studies, Occultism, Witchcraft & Wicca, Fortune Telling, Tarot, ESP (Clairvoyance, Precognition, Telepathy) and Out-of-Body Experiences.
Here’s the link to see for yourself

Knowing that, I would not own ANY Zondervan Bible, for how can you trust a publisher
who prints the teachings and deceptions of Lucifer?

The revised 2011 edition of the NIV neuters the Bible

The NIV was updated in 2011, to make the Bible more “gender neutral“.
Did your pastor not tell you about that?

People like to debate about the NIV supposedly being “more accurate” than the KJV, but that aside, how can they defend making the Bible gender neutral?

Surely the ancient manuscripts don’t support such a change, so they must be based
on being “politically correct“, which is more deception from Lucifer.

If a publisher changes the Holy Bible to make it “gender neutral”, that tells you that they
don’t have integrity, and it calls into question any pastor who teaches from the NIV.

The Bible translations DO NOT agree, so they can’t ALL be the infallible Word of God

History shows that there are two streams of Bible texts, and they disagree with each other,
so obviously both of them CANNOT be correct.

The NIV and other modern translations are based on one stream of manuscripts,
and the KJV on another.

So logically, we can’t say that the KJV and the NIV are BOTH the Inerrant Word Of God.
And anyone who tells you otherwise is not giving you the whole truth.

This is one of Lucifer’s deceptions to cause the world to not believe in the validity of the Bible.  Christians can’t agree on which Bible is valid, so why would unbelievers trust it?

Reader, please understand that Satan is working hard to deceive you.

Instead of just attacking the church from the outside, he infiltrates it from the inside, to subtlety deceive people.

Paul called the Galations foolish for believing the Judaisers, who had invaded the church.

John said in 1 John 2:19, that many antichrists went out from the early church.

Satan has been active for thousands of years, working through his earthly disciples, to deceive believers from within.

Here’s some further insight into different versions of the Bible:

Most all of the modern Bible versions on based on the wrong manuscripts and the transcribers didn’t believe that God’s Word is infallible.

The easiest way to tell if your Bible is valid is to go through the above study and look at what your Bible says in each verse compared to the King James version.

Most likely it will make the same errors and deceptions that the NIV does.

The RSV / NRSV / ESV

The RSV(Revised Standard Version) and the NRSV(New Revised Standard Version) are copyrighted and produced by the National Council of the Churches of Christ(NCC).

The ESV(English Standard Version) is based on the RSV.

The NCC sounds like a nice organization, until you realize that the NCC was established by Luciferians to control American churches.

New Jerusalem Bible and Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition

The New Jerusalem Bible and Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition Bibles are produced by the Roman Catholic Church leaders, which are antichrist.

New World Translation

The NWT(New World Translation) came from Charles Taze Russell, founder of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, who do not believe in the deity of Jesus.    We suffice it to say, “You can’t get good fruit from a bad tree.” (Matthew 7:17, 18)

New King James

The New King James version is not just a King James Bible without the Thee’s and the Thou’s.  There are significant differences in the interpretation, even though they are based on the same Greek text.

The NKJ is more subtle in it’s mistranslations than other versions, so from that standpoint, it is more dangerous.

There are newer versions, such as the NKJ 2000, which seem to stay true to the KJ, with only updates to the Thee’s and the Thou’s.

The most accurate bible translation is the King James version, which is a literal word for word translation.  It confirms the deity of Jesus, the virgin birth,  Jesus redeeming blood, Jesus as our judge, and holy trinity of God.

Do YOU want a Bible that cuts out the holiness of God, removes lots of the promises, and in some cases just deletes the verse altogether?

Or do you want the true, pure words that God Himself wrote? Because there is power on in those words, and not in the weak, powerless words of man.

Decide for yourself. Just remember that God promises to curse those who mess with the word He wrote. Pray the Holy Spirit to show you the truth.

The modern Bible translations are written for a Laodicean ‘luke-warm’ church

Why is the Church so silent as Lucifer has set up shop in the modern translations?  There should be an outcry!

The Laodicean church period described in Revelation 3  is the last one before the Second Coming of Christ. Read Revelation 3:14-22 and you will know that it describes the modern church.

This lukewarm period began toward the end of the 1800’s and will continue until Christ returns.

So the modern versions fit well into the lukewarm churches, because they are lukewarm ‘bibles.’

The 1611 King James was translated during the Philadelphia church period, which is the best period of all, as the Lord Jesus had nothing bad to say about it and He commended it for ‘Keeping His Word‘.

The period of the greatest missionary work in church history occurred between 1700 and 1900, so it makes sense that God would have a Bible ready for this great work, and He did – the KJV.

The modern Bibles are supported by two very corrupt fourth century manuscripts.

The ‘Vaticanus’ and the ‘Siniaticus’ manuscripts are filled with many alterations to meet the demands of Roman Catholic tradition.

The reformers John Calvin and Martin Luther proclaimed that the Roman Catholic Church is the harlot of Revelation 17 and the ‘dreadful and terrible’ beast of Daniel 7.  They named them as antichrist and the Papacy the ‘man of perdition’.

The Textus Receptus (received text) manuscript used for the King James Bible can be traced clear back to Antioch, Syria, where the disciples were first called Christians and where Paul and Barnabas taught the word of God for a whole year.

So do you want a bible that uses text from the manuscripts of those that are called antichrist?

Or do you want a Bible that is based on the text from the teachings of Paul and Barnabas?

Here’s some links for further studies on Bible version comparisons:

You can read this paper on the different manuscripts that were used for the Bible versions @ http://www.ecclesia.org/truth/nt_manuscripts.html

  1. Hi There, i have been reading your articles and i think that you are right on target.
I only have one suggestion, and that is to call Satan what he really is, Satan or Devil. There is only one instance in scripture where the name Lucifer is referred to and I am not totally convinced that is refers to Satan as much as a king trying to elevate himself to the position like God. And we saw what happen when man try to elevate themselves to the height God and what God did to them at the tower of Babel.

So many people use the name Lucifer when he is really called Devil and Satan as confirmed multiple times over in the bible and even Jesus called him Satan or Devil. So if Jesus call Satan by Satan or Devil i am just wondering why you would use the name Lucifer so often instead of Satan. So if we are to follow the example of our Lord Jesus Christ then we should call the Devil, Satan or Devil. We want to make sure that we are accurate with scripture in all areas.

Again this is just a suggestion to be more accurate and if you think saying Satan or Devil will give power to him than i understand why you would use Lucifer. like i mentioned before, you are doing a great job with this site and i certainly learned a lot. i also have been encouraging my kids to view this site as well as forwarding the link to other believers.

    Blessings,

    • Hello leon, in hebrew the correct wording is – son of the morning and not morning star… also the babyloian king in question cant be Nebuchadnezzer since he says in daniel chapter 4:34-37 He praises the God of daniel saying – I nebuchadnezzer lifted up my eyes unto heaven and my understanding returned to me and I blessed the most high and I praised and honored him that liveth forever and ever……. also this is in the OT and it is daniel who calls him son of the morning and not Jesus…. lucifer should not be in use IMO at Isaiah 14:12. One thought since Jesus as the word created all that is seen and not seen (john 1:3) could it be, the devil is the son of the morning star?

  2. Hi there, thank you for this informative article and your video series. You do not mention the Amplified Bible at all in this article and I was wondering what your view was on it. I have checked some of the key verses you mention and it seems to stick closely to the KJ.

    • Hi Wendy,

Thank you for your comment. I’m glad that you benefited from the article.

My friend has a “KJV and Amplified Side-by-Side Bible” and I really like it, since it has the Authorized KJ text, with the alternate word renderings from the Amplified.

You can read about it on Amazon at http://www.amazon.com/Amplified-Side—Side-Bible-Large/dp/031044330X

The Amplified Bible does make a note when a verse or words are not in all manuscripts.

An example is Acts 8:37, where it notes that “Many manuscripts do not contain this verse.”

Another example is 1 John 5:7-8, where it says “The italicized section is found only in late manuscripts.”

These footnotes can add doubt to the reader about the infallibility of the Bible, since it indicates that manuscripts don’t agree.

If you want to understand why the manuscripts don’t agree, here’s a great, easy to read book that explains the two paths of manuscripts, one of which has been corrupted by Satan to deceive people. http://www.amazon.com/Did-Catholic-Church-Give-Bible/dp/0758905793/

May God bless you and keep you!

      • The Amplified Bible does have many errors. For example John 3:13 is taken out of text robbing Christ his deity and omnipresence. They use “His home is in heaven”.

  4. Very Interesting! I am 75 years old and grew up reading the KJV and memorized from it. I didn’t start using the NIV until maybe 7years ago sitting under teachings of Beth Moore who used it mainly along with some other translations. I thought it interesting that I can’t memorize it as well as the KJV. What do you think about this very popular woman bible teacher using mostly the NIV?

    Reply
    • Thank you for your comment Lynn 🙂

Most teachers use the NIV and other modern Bible versions because they have modern English words that are supposedly easier to understand.

What they fail to realize is that those Bibles are missing important words and verses, that validate the deity of our Lord Jesus.

They fail to realize the deception because the Greek Bibles that they reference are also missing those words.

Satan has been very effective in creating a corrupt path of manuscripts and Greek Bibles, which have resulted in corrupt Bible versions.

You can read about the two paths of Bible manuscripts by clicking on Satan’s Corrupted Bible Manuscripts.

This KJ vs. NIV study is long and most people won’t read it. So I created a shorter study that allows people to compare any modern Bible version to the King James, to see what words are missing. You can view it by clicking on Modern Bible Deception Verse Study

On the bottom of each of those pages is a link to a PDF file of the study, that you can save, print and share it with others.

I think that Beth Moore has wonderful insights to share that edify us, but it really concerns me when a teacher doesn’t understand that the Bible they are teaching from has been corrupted by the evil one.

Bible teachers are going to be held accountable for what they teach, so I pray that she comes to know the truth.

Grace and peace to you in Jesus name,

      David

  5. Hello, enjoyed the lengthy but scholarly discussion on bible versions. I’ve studied from Bullinger’s Companion bible for years due to its reliance on the massorah. Bullinger’s commentary is okay but he had his flaws theologically speaking (rapturist). Making use of Strong’s and Green’s interlinear is (fortunately) accessible online and those go along way to helping clear up problems. Good website too. Very gutsy studies, thanks.

  6. Thank you for your article and for all the research that went before it! What do you think of the Geneva Bible, which was written 51 years before the King James? This was the primary Bible of 16th century Protestantism, and was used by John Knox and John Bunyan, to name a few. Would this be a good version to use?

    • Thank you for your comment Edie 🙂 When the Lord revealed these things to me, I was amazed at how many words about Jesus deity are missing in modern Bibles versions, and saddened that most Christians have no clue.

Here’s a shorter study that allows Christians to compare the ESV, NIV, RSV, etc. to the King James, so that they can see what words are missing. http://christianitybeliefs.org/end-times-deceptions/kj-niv-esv-modern-bible-deception-verse-comparison-study/

Your comment is very timely, as I am completing a study about the ‘Little Book’ in Revelation 10, and I believe that the Geneva Bible is that Little Book.

Christ’s Church had been trampled on for many years, as the Papal Church burned Bible manuscripts and killed Christians whom they called ‘heretics’.

The Lord responded by having Wycliffe write the Bible in English.

Then He had William Tyndale print the Bible in English.

Then King Henry VIII of England authorized the Great Bible in 1540.

Then in 1560, the Geneva Bible started to be printed. This version of the Holy Bible is significant because, for the very first time, a mechanically printed, mass-produced Bible was made available directly to the general public.

The Geneva Bible was printed in Roman type, and it was printed in more convenient and affordable sizes than earlier versions. Having it printed, instead of written, would have made it a Little Book.

It allowed the Word of God to be spread and read by millions. It fueled the Protestant Reformation, where millions were saved. It led to the Great Awakening, where worldwide missions saved millions.

Now think back to when the Apostle John wrote the book of Revelation. The word of God was on hand-written scrolls.

Now visualize him seeing the entire canon, all of the O.T., along with the Gospels, the Epistles, etc. all in one ‘little book.’ Got to love that fulfillment of prophecy!

The other significant feature of the Geneva Bible is the commentaries, which provide great insight.

So if you are able to understand the Old English of the Geneva Bible, then it’s a great resource, as it’s founded on the Textus Receptus.

Let me know if you have other questions about the studies on the website.

Grace and peace to you in Jesus name,
      David

I was just relating that I didn’t know it before, and then it was shown to me. Why would I give credit to Gail (I did not know who she was until you mentioned her)? I give credit to the Spirit, for revealing these things.

I understand completely. I’ve tried to learn from Pastors who teach from the NIV, but my heart knows that if the Pastor is not discerning enough to know that the NIV is a corrupt Bible, he is not the Pastor for me.

I led a study group where we went through the verses in this study, and people who had a NIV and ESV were amazed and appalled that they were missing so many words that validate Jesus deity.

That said, the NKJ stayed true in all of the verses in the study. There are some issues with the NKJ, especially in the O.T., where it is based on other manuscripts besides the Masoretic Text.

If people have a problem reading the KJ, I tell them to read the NKJ.

So perhaps you can find a church that teaches from the NKJ.

      I hope that helps!

  8. Hi,

I would also recommend that people stick to the true and tested KJV bible and the above reasons are a clear example to do so. However, most people argue that whilst the KJV is old English, or so to say, their real problem seems to lie with the “Thee, Thou” words and not so much with the “saidst, seest” type of words. The bible does use the words “Ye, you, yours” words and there is a clear reason why it is so. Whenever the bible uses the words “Thee” or “Thou”, it usually refers to being addressed one person, such as, God telling Joshua, “7 Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee:” (Joshua 1:7a), being singular and You/ yours being plural addressing a wider audience. I don’t think any Christian should have a problem with that. We need to understand what God is saying and if we find things difficult, that why God has raised the 5 fold ministry to teach them. I too attend a church that has moved away from the KJV and having prayed about the misleading teachings that are going around, God has blessed me with revelation to understand the deep things hidden, and it will only be given to those who ask.

However, if you are a person whose first language is not English, read the word of God in your own language, as the bible has given a command to preach the gospel to all kindred and tongues.

What else can be said? Simple! Pray, pray and keep praying. The Spirit of God will teach us the truth, if we ask!

    • Hi Warren, thank you for your comment. And thank you for sharing your insight about the purpose of the “Ye, you, yours” and “Thee” or “Thou”.

I posted another study that may help you show people the truth about the words that are missing. They can compare their NIV, ESV, RSV, etc. to the King James, to see what their Bible is missing.

      It’s located at http://christianitybeliefs.org/end-times-deceptions/kj-niv-esv-modern-bible-deception-verse-comparison-study/

On the bottom of that study is a link to a PDF file, so that you can print it for people.

And here’s a link to help people understand why their Bible is missing words, as most modern Bibles are based on the corrupt Greek Bible of Westcott and Hort, which is also missing those words. Pastors typically don’t see the deception, because their Greek Bible and their modern Bible are both missing the words. Satan is a sly one. http://christianitybeliefs.org/end-times-deceptions/bible-manuscript-paths/

Amen to praying for eye salve to see the truth, and then seek it diligently as searching for silver.

    • Thank you for your comment Walter 🙂 That’s a great question. On this study where the NIV and ESV are missing many key words, the NKJ has them. The NKJ New Testament is based on the Textus Receptus, so that is huge, and for many it’s much easier to read than the KJ. But the NKJ Old Testament has some renderings from manuscripts other than the Masoretic Text, so that presents some translation problems. KJ-Only people will tell you anything but the KJ is bad, but I read the NKJ. I use the KJ and Young’s Literal Translation for more in-depth studies, and also Strong’s and Interlinear Bible for the Hebrew and Greek. I hope that helps! Blessings to you! David

    • Thank you for your comment Keith 🙂 I think that Webster stayed true to the text and simply used words to replace archaic terms that aren’t used anymore, and he made some grammatical updates. It’s still a word-for-word translation and the main thing is that it is based on the Textus Receptus New Testament and the Masoretic Text Old Testament manuscripts. And it makes the Bible easier to read, which is always a good thing. Keep learning and growing! Blessings to you! David

  15. The idea of a “bright morning star” is a star that outshines all the others. Satan, as perhaps the most beautiful creation of God, probably the most powerful of all the angels, was a bright morning star. Jesus, as God incarnate, the Lord of the universe, is THE bright and morning star. Jesus is the most holy and powerful “light” in all the universe. So, while both Jesus and Satan can be described as “bright morning stars,” in no sense is this equating Jesus and Satan. Satan is a created being. His light only exists to the extent that God created it. Jesus is the light of the world (John 9:5). Only Jesus’ light is self-existent. Satan may be a bright morning star, but he is only a poor imitation of the one true bright morning star, Jesus Christ, the light of the world.

So that answers that question. For some reason I don’t understand people who think the KJV is the only Bible worth reading. If you ask me those are the kind of people who have started a new cult in America. The KJV only group. Glad they like to speak in old english when they preach but there’s a time you have to speak for an audience that speaks modern english. And for the other stuff that was mentioned they didn’t purposely leave that stuff out to make you think they hate God. I’m sure the people that re wrote the KJV into this version were God fearing Christians. I don’t understand why people fight over such a thing. They treat the NIV like it’s a sin to read! I can’t believe where Christians have gone to the extent to these days!
We’re supposed to be winning people to God but instead are fighting over which Bible is “holier” I’m sure God is sure proud of us for doing so.
Thanks for the typical biased opinion of a fundamentalist you sure make it sound like a sin to read the NIV. I’m sure you’re the type of person that believes Jesus didn’t drink wine he drank grape juice which is something I find hilarious to believe. It was real wine sorry.

    • Thank you for your comment Jared 🙂 How you think that the NIV is okay when it is missing 64,576 words, which is 8% of God’s word, is beyond me. I am not KJ-only, I simply used the KJ in this study as it’s based on the Textus Receptus, and therefore has all of the words that God gave us. Modern Bible versions are based on corrupt manuscripts which are missing those words. So the KJ is the most accurate compared to the NIV and ESV.

I actually read the NKJ most of the time. When I’m working on a Bible study, I use the KJ, Young’s Literal Translation, and a Hebrew-Greek Interlinear Bible. I also reference the Geneva Bible. All of those are based on the Textus Receptus New Testament.

You say that we’re supposed to be winning people to God, but here you are posting comments and making accusations about me.

Here’s a study that shows the two paths of manuscripts, one the pure path from God, and the corrupted path from Satan. The NIV is based on the manuscripts from the corrupted path. http://christianitybeliefs.org/end-times-deceptions/bible-manuscript-paths/

I have a copy of the KJV and use it all the time. How can any church leaders not know that the KJV is the most accurate? Also, you mention that the NKJV could be more dangerous, could you explain in more detail please?

    • Thank you for your comment Gisela 🙂 Since the printed Bible exploded onto the scene during the 16th century, the Jesuits of Rome have been seeking to suppress it. With no way to stop it from being printed, they have sought ways to corrupt it, i.e., the NIV and ESV Bibles.

The NKJ is not just based on the Masoretic Text Old Testament manuscripts and the Textus Receptus New Testament manuscripts, as they reference other manuscripts, so it has some errors. If people believe that it is just like the KJ only with modern English, they can be misled.

Here is a study that you can print, to help others see the deception, if they are using a NIV or ESV. I’m at a loss for words to describe how bad this article is, so I’ll keep it really simple. You can’t use the KJV to argue that the KJV is the most accurate translation. The NIV doesn’t remove anything because it isn’t based on the KJV. Both translations are based on Greek and Aramaic manuscripts.

    Reply
    • Thank you for your comment Jarod 🙂 The main point of the article is to show that there is a huge difference between the two versions, not because just they are worded differently, but because there is an 8% difference in the number of words. Comparing the two versions side by side shows the significance of the words that are missing in the NIV.

The reason there is a difference is that the NIV is based on corrupt manuscripts, such as the Codex Siniaticus and Codex Vaticanus.

Codex Siniaticus (Aleph or a) was put in the trash heap by the monks of St Catherine’s Monastery. On nearly every page of the manuscript there are corrections and revisions, done by 10 different people. It is indeed worthless trash.

Codex Vaticanus (B) is kept by the Roman Catholic Church, which the Reformers properly identified as Anti-christ.
In the gospels alone it leaves out 237 words, 452 clauses and 748 whole sentences.

The early Christians REJECTED these manuscripts, so they were cast aside for a thousand years, until they were later dug up and called “ancient manuscripts.”

The enemy caused two heretics, Westcott and Hort, to write a new Greek Bible, in the 19th century. They used the corrupt Siniaticus and Vaticanus. The NIV is based on their corrupt Greek Bible, which is why it is missing so many words.

The KJV is based on the Masoretic Text and Textus Receptus, which have been provide to be pure.

You can read about the two paths of manuscripts @ http://christianitybeliefs.org/end-times-deceptions/bible-manuscript-paths

  18. This is really somewhat unbelievable. This is why one can never trust Google searches for answers. No one wants to give a fair and balanced approach to the topic.

While you may not be a KJO, you’re obviously a TRO at least, which is virtually the same thing. Additionally, these are the same arguments the KJOs use, which greatly tarnishes the credibility of the argument.

What do we know of the text-types? The Critical text, which is a corrected form from the Wescott-Hort (now Nestle-Aland + additional corrections) are older, closer to the events, and supported from early church writings) provides the basis for most new translations. Yes, they’re smaller in number and from Alexandria.

The Textus-Receptus, which is a translation of the Received Texts(Byzantine) has many more manuscripts, but virtually NO manuscript evidence between the 2nd and 15th century. Therefore, the KJ is a true translation of a translation (phone game anyone?). Now, I’ve heard of a book or two that attempts to prove the Byzantine text has support going back to the 2nd and 3rd centuries, but have not read them yet. Hope its true.

So in the art/science of Textual Criticism, the TR has ample manuscript evidence but that evidence is very late and interpolated. The Critical text is early (good), fewer in number, and has the heretics Wescott & Horts name related to them, but the corrected version has wide scholarly support for accuracy.

Now, the biggest problem I have is with the strawmen put up here. Yes, the CT may remove some verses and some words. II Corinthians 5:18 removes “Jesus”, but leaves “Christ”? The context tells us that its referring to Jesus but the manuscript just says Christ. Its really a non-issue. Jesus was likely ADDED by the Byzantine scribes. You say heretics removed it, but adding is just as bad. Additionally, its unnecessary. Are we now to think the rest of II Corinthians is referring to a different Christ? No.

Likewise, though the Johannine Comma is removed, does that mean the NIV is anti-trinity? Of course not. The Trinity is still found amply in the NIV, NASB, HCSB, RSV, Etc where the earlier texts support it. Also still found in these other translations based on the CT…….The divinity of Jesus, his pre-existence with the father, and God’s/Jesus’ holiness. It’s all there in those versions as well. If they were trying to get rid of any one doctrine, they would have edited these out of the other locations as well, like the NWT does.
The versions based on the Critical text are attempts to maintain faithfulness to both Orthodoxy and verified manuscript support. That said, I concur that the argument over the veracity of which text-type is best, is still far from certain. I dont like/trust Westcott & Hort either, but I also dont like the lack of manuscript evidence for the TR prior to the 15th century. Additionally, only the JWs use the W&H text type. The modern translations use the Nestle-Aland and UBS which are corrected from W&H translation.

I’m also stunned that you brought up the whole Lucifer=Morning Star=Jesus hogwash.
Lucifer doesn’t exist outside of the KJV! Satan is the devil’s name. Jesus used Satan, not Lucifer. Lucifer simply means Morning Star or Bright one in Latin. It’s one of the many places the TR doesn’t have manuscript support, so it was “borrowed” from the Latin Vulgate to fill in the void.
Assuming you’re an honest person, then you’d know that Isaiah 14 is talking about the King of Babylon directly. There is good debate on whether its referring to Satan in parallel with the King of Babylon or is an arch-type of Satans fall from Heaven, but in the literal rendering, its discussing the King of Babylon. Without the interpolation of “Lucifer” from the Latin Vulgate, we would never be calling the devil Lucifer or using that “name” at all. Therefore its perfectly acceptable to call The King of Babylon or Jesus lucifer (in Latin), being the Morning Star. Notice I used lower-case L. It’s not a name; a title perhaps, but not a name.

As with most KJOs, you make a fuss about the “only begotten Son” translation. Those of us who study the bible understand its meaning, but from a surface understanding, you can see how this rendering can cause some confusion to say……cults who make Jesus a created being, being “born” of God, not God? So some of the newer translations attempt to make it clearer, “one and only” or “Only Son”. It’s disingenuous again to use this as your poke at modern translations.

Now, I’m not here to pump for the NIV, NRSV, or any particular version. Personally I haven’t cracked open an NIV in years, and my wife and I use the HCSB and the NKJV as they’re readable and relatively accurate, and gives us insight across both text-types. In fact, the HCSB includes nearly all of the “removed” verses you cited, but in brackets. That’s a plus for me, as its like reading a parallel bible with the TR version in the brackets.

    So here’s YOUR list again:
    ■remove Jesus name
■remove Jesus as the ‘only begotten Son’ – already addressed
■switch the name of Lucifer and Jesus – already addressed.
■remove proof that Jesus is God
■remove validation of the virgin birth
■remove that our redemption is through Jesus blood
■remove proof of the Holy Trinity
■and remove proof that you have eternal life in Jesus

But to be fair, lets pick the least “liked” version of the KJO/TROs, the NIV.

I challenge anyone here to show that the NIV, even the 2011 edition, to show that this version does NOT support the Orthodox positions of these bulleted items. Even the NIV fully supports Jesus Christ’s deity, his substitution, the virgin birth, his bodily resurrection, His blood shed for the propitiation of our sins, and the Holy Trinity and any other Orthodox position. They’re all in there. There were after all, CHRISTIANs on the translation committees.

I’m sorry for such a lengthy post, but I actually didn’t address every point you made. Yet I certainly could have. I’m just a seeker for the truth of the matter and no expert, but I found these arguments weak and obtuse, and I’ve heard them all before, and they hold little weight when the balance of scripture is considered. Yes, “through Christ” might be removed because its not in the earlier text, or was ADDED by later texts, but the context and the book still subscribes to the idea that we can approach God through Christ. It’s replete in the rest of the book.

Fine you like old english, feel its more pomp and kingly. Fine, the NIV is too liberal with its phrasing. Good. I might agree. To brand modern versions as from Satan to deceive is…..well….deceptive. Hope your readers are more discerning than that.

I pray for the Holy Spirit to give us all discernment.

    • Thank you for your comment Brian 🙂 I appreciate your insight and zeal for the subject. On this study the KJ and NIV are used to make the major point, that is not just a difference in wording, but there is a significant difference in the number of words.

There should not be 64,576 fewer words in the NIV, or 64,576 extra words in the KJ. The point is there is a huge problem.

The NIV is based on Westcott and Hort’s Greek Bible, which is based on the corrupt Codex Siniaticus and Codex Vaticanus.

Codex Siniaticus (Aleph or a) was put in the trash heap by the monks of St Catherine’s Monastery. On nearly every page of the manuscript there are corrections and revisions, done by 10 different people. It is indeed worthless trash.

You can read that study @
      http://christianitybeliefs.org/end-times-deceptions/bible-manuscript-paths/

The ESV translates words better than the NIV, but it also is based on Westcott and Hort’s corrupt Greek Bible, so it too is many key words.
You can view a study that allows the reader to compare their NIV or ESV to the King James @ http://christianitybeliefs.org/end-times-deceptions/kj-niv-esv-modern-bible-deception-verse-comparison-study/

If two Bible versions do not include the same number of words, and if the words that are missing are key words regarding the deity of the Messiah, then there is a deception.

Keep learning and growing in the faith!

  19. I am a little confused about the basic logic here. Your first emphasis of the text states, “if all versions of the Bible were true to God’s spoken Word, then we would expect to find them in agreement?”. The very next emphasis reads, “most modern versions of the Bible make the same errors as the NIV.” So what you are saying in your emphasis is that the KJV contradicts the other texts while the other texts agree with each other. By your own opening statements, the say that the KJV is the least accurate translation, but then the remainder of the article you argue the opposite. To be perfectly honest, you really need to change your website from “Christianity Beliefs” to “Seventh Day Adventist Beliefs”, the two aren’t the same.

    • Thank you for your comment Jason 🙂 I understand your point. This was my first study on the matter. I have since published this study, which is more concise http://christianitybeliefs.org/end-times-deceptions/kj-niv-esv-modern-bible-deception-verse-comparison-study/

And this study, which explains that there are two paths of manuscripts. The pure one which led to Bibles like the Geneva Bible, Young’s Literal Translation and the KJ. And the corrupt one that led to the NIV, ESV, etc. http://christianitybeliefs.org/end-times-deceptions/bible-manuscript-paths/

Modern Bibles are based on the corrupt path, which is based on the corrupt Codex Siniaticus and Codex Vaticanus manuscripts, and the corrupt Greek Bible from Westcott and Hort.

I am not KJ-only. I just used it in the study because it is the most popular version that is based on the correct manuscripts.

For studies I reference Young’s Literal Translation and a Hebrew/Greek English Interlinear Bible.

And I am not SDA, so you can remove that from your excuses.

      Keep learning and growing! David

      Reply
      • If you study from an interlinear, then you should understand that it’s not that text was removed by modern translations, but that in the older translations footnotes added by the translators have slowly migrated into the text. Not only have additions been made to the older translations, but when comparing two different dialects you would expect that they would have different word counts anyways. A word count basis hold no ground for any sort of comparison. Everybody knows that the entire ending of the book of Mark (in all translations) was added by translators to wrap things up for the reader. We know that people altered the text from it’s original, but since it doesn’t disagree with the remainder of the bible, it is accepted. All version have errors, but we do the best we can. That is just the way it is.

And once again you’re contradicting yourself. Your argument in this article is that text has been intentionally deleted from modern manuscripts, and this based on a word count and text comparisons. Your reply and linked article above state that modern bible versions have been translated from the Codex Siniaticus which is claimed to have been significantly rewritten. Deleting words is vastly different from rewriting.

This is exactly why I never joined the SDA church. Every document that my parents request that I read from the SDA standpoint have been nothing but illogical/moot arguments that always contradict themselves before the end.

        Reply
        • Your argument doesn’t make sense Jason. My Interlinear gives me the Hebrew and Greek with the English literal translation. It is based on the Masoretic O.T. and the Majority Text, Textus Receptus N.T. Maybe you are using a Interlinear Bible that is based on Westcott and Hort or Nestle-Aland Greek Bibles, which are corrupt and missing many words. Again, I’m not SDA, so you can’t use that as an excuse. David

          Reply
          • Exactly, literal translation = word for word. You can easily see that all English versions of the bible have several words added, deleted, and paraphrased but the context is similar to the best of the interpreter’s ability.

How about you just count the English words in your interlinear and compare that to the number of words in your KJV. Then we can say that all bibles are corrupt because they have different word counts and we can throw them all in the trash.

Of course this last statement of mine is a joke, but if you don’t agree with it you just destroyed the entire basis of your argument in this article.

  20. One of the worst failings in modern Christian textual perspective is how often Jesus and the Apostles fail to quote from the KJV / Masoretic text. Or is it? Instead they are quite sloppy and most often quote from that atrocious, recent Greek translation, the Septuagint (LXX). Or was it? The Masoretic fails to support the doctrine of the virgin birth, instead just referring to the Messiah as born of a young maiden, so the KJV and the translators of other versions that boast faithfulness to the Masoretic suddenly (deceptively?) depart from it there and borrow from the Septuagint instead. The KJV has had to be revised from its early printings since there were numerous errors made, the lists of which can be found readily elsewhere. (How old was Ahaziah when he became king? 22 or 42? Take your choice: 2 Chron. 22:2 or 2 Kings 8:26, but the accepted Masoretic text of the Old Testament has a discrepancy there. The excuses and explanations for this run the gamut, but at the end of the day, it certainly leaves open the question of why God is declared to have perfectly inspired an understandable text but not then also perfectly preserved it. How can that be? What good does that do us? What else has not been perfectly preserved, then, and are we sure we can tell?)

Does your KJV contain the Apocrypha? If not, why not? Do you accept that latter-17th-century change contrary to the original Authorized Version? What other changes do you accept to it, and upon what basis? In the New Testament, Paul quotes from pagan poets and philosophers approvingly, turning their words into God-breathed inspiration (by accident?), and Jude quotes from the Book of Enoch, a relatively recent book at the time we are told, yet claiming that the source of the quote is Enoch, the Seventh from Adam. Does this mean that at least part of the Book of Enoch is inspired scripture, then?

So all this is reason for serious questions and doubts about the KJV, the limitations of scholarship in the late 16th century, and plenty of issues back in the source material itself, just like in other translations. Are these good reasons to disbelieve in the soundness and authority of the scriptures, then? Not if it turns out that Jesus, the Apostles, and their disciples were teaching and practicing a different perspective of scripture than theologians have since assured us they were. And that just might help explain why the New Testament quotes of Old Testament passages so often fail to line up (ever noticed that?).

I’m afraid that most of us who tackle this topic are in over our heads almost from the beginning unless we have a very extensive, working knowledge of ancient literature, the principles utilized in extracting the meaning and use given to those documents, as well as the great troubles visited upon the Body of Christ by theologians, heads of state, religionists of every conceivable party (or “brand” today), and all other manner of determined influencers that had agendas quite different from the simplicity that is in Jesus. He was and is the only Living Word–the Logos of God. It is helpful to think of that when reading many passages in the New Testament that are assumed (due to extensive theological input) to be about the Bible. For example, carefully compare the statements and context in Hebrews 4, verse 12, and the next verse (13).

May God empower, bless, and preserve you on your journey with Him.

  21. Thank God for the Truth Seekers ; anointed by God too right and pass on the truth of his word in its original and undefiled chapters,an verses. Christians who believe and can boldly speak up to edify the body of Christ because if it’s not written in God’s own words then it is not from God as in the Book of Joshua 1/8 says this book of the law shall not depart out of my mouth but thou shalt meditate therein day and night that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein for then Thou shalt make my way prosperous and then Thou shalt have good success! It also says in John 7:14-18 know about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple and taught and the Jews Marveled saying how knoweth this man letters having never learned. Jesus answered them and said my Doctrine is not mine but his that sent me if any man will do his will he shall know of the doctrine whether it be of God or whether I speak of myself he that speaketh of himself he seeks his own Glory but he that seeks his glory that sent him the same is true and no unrighteousness is in him! So John 8:31-32 says; then Jesus said to those Jews who believe on him if you continue in my word then you are yes my disciples indeed and you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.😂🔊😇

After 15 years of being born again and breathing (multiple versions) of Bibles like oxygen, your article opened my eyes that modern versions don’t have power. I missed the deception because I filled in the blanks of what was missing without even knowing it until now. This is life changing. Also, I grew up believing there was a pre-rapture but one day in my studies of something else, I remember my heart sinking as I no longer see it. I’m seeing how I’ve fallen for so much deception. I’m really questioning others teaching as well. The Holy Spirit bears witness to Jesus Christ and you know it’s the truth when it draws you closer to him. God bless you!!

  23. Unbelievable, using a english translation to compare to english translations for supposed accuracy. Why don’t you ask yourself the background of the translators? Niv, 150 from over a dozen different denominations, Kjv, all 50 from the church of England and what are they famous for besides being a pope removed from the catholic church? What happened to the apocrapha that they translated that was removed by whom in the 1880’s, I believe? You’re defending a bible that you couldn’t even read in it’s original form and included many other books now omitted. I wonder how many words and verses that adds up to? 100,000? Have you ever asked yourself why God would deny His people His word until 1611 and all other non-speaking english people since? When you become a hebrew, greek and aramaic scholar that translates for themselves let us know.

    • Bob, the major point of the study is that the KJV and NIV give different explanations, because words and even verses are missing in the NIV. Many people think that the NIV is a good Bible, which just reads easier. This is of grave concern and Christians need to know about it.

I don’t pretend to be a Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic expert. But guess what Bob? I don’t have to be, to see the profound differences between the KJV and the NIV.

You can use this study to compare any modern Bible to the KJV. http://christianitybeliefs.org/end-times-deceptions/kj-niv-esv-modern-bible-deception-verse-comparison-study/

Why do I use the KJV as an example? Not that I’m KJ-only, but because it’s based on the right manuscripts; while the NIV and other modern translations are based on corrupt manuscripts. This study shows the two basic paths of the manuscripts, one pure and one corrupt. http://christianitybeliefs.org/end-times-deceptions/bible-manuscript-paths/

What version do you use Bob?

      Reply
    • It’s ironic that Bob criticizes people trusting the KJV by saying “Have you ever asked yourself why God would deny His people His word until 1611 …”, yet he seems to defend the NIV which came out in the 1970’s. Something is wrong with his argument here.

  24. I found this website after seeing that the “he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted” of Luke 4:18 is missing from the NIV & AMPL but is present in the KJV. So I was asking myself, did the KJV make a mistake and add a verse that’s not in the original manuscript? Yet this is unlikely coz Jesus was simply reading from Isaiah 61 which clearly has the “brokenhearted” in there. Even the NIV & AMPL have the “brokenhearted” in Isaiah 61 as well.

So I went to the original Greek and copied and pasted it into Google Translate and out out came the “brokenhearted”. So why is it only in the KJV and other translations like the BRG, the Geneva, NLV, Jubilee, NKJV, WEB, etc. How come these translations have this verse while the likes of NIV & AMP don’t? Honestly, what manuscripts are NKJV using that NIV don’t have access to?

The sustained diversion you have pointed cannot be attributed simply to a translation error. I am a multilingual legal and medical interpreter and translator. From my own 20 years of experience in the field, I know that those who do translation work understand unequivocally the intensity of discipline that one has to employ to translate every word with care – t.e., with deep intellectual thinking and without altering an iota of the context of the sentence, paragraph or chapter in which the word exists. When the job of translation relates to translating the Eternal Word of God (for which The Only Begotten Son of God paid the ultimate sacrifice for our redemption) from one language to the other (to aid in the fulfillment of the Great Commission – Matthew 28:16-20), the job of the translator becomes pivotal.

The work you have done to expose the diversion is so important that it needs to be translated to as many languages as possible and be circulated to Christian opinion leaders and churches in all countries who are grounded in the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. While this is ambitious, with the blessing of The Almighty God, the help of the Only Begotten Son of The Almighty God and the guidance of The Holy Spirit, it is possible.

  30. Very good insight. God is not the author of confusion
1 Corinthians 14:33King James Version (KJV)

33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

If he wrote two Bibles, with one saying the David Killed Goliath and then ElHanan killing Goliath years later, God would then be lying, wouldn’t he?

Only the KJV is true. From personal experience of how this Book the KJV changed my life and sanctified me for ministry. Now I am a Pastor. And that’s when I switched from a sinful life (NIV and RSV were my preferred “Bibles” then, to a life dedicated to the Lord Jesus (in the KJV). I too was fooled and none of my previous pastors ever told me that i was drinking from the canal. Now I’ve got living waters and nourishing waters from the Lord (John 4:13-14). It is really pure (God never deals with impurity, especially Hiw Word, the KJV, as in Psalms 12:6-7, Proverbs 30:5, and in Psalms 119:40 Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.).

Why some men love the canal water rather than God’s pure water is really beyond me. Why some prefer works of warlocks that the work of God’s faithful servants, is really beyond me also.

Jesus said that the love for His word will be measure of determining if you are really His:

    John 8:47
He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

John 15:7 says also that your prayers can be answered if “my words abide in you”:
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Obviously, the same cannot be said is Jesus words does not abide in you.

  31. Hi Ray,
I live in Perth, Australia and I was going through a few websites on this subject as next year I will be travelling with my father to see his 3 sisters on my 50th Birthday.
On the website bible-truths.com the pastor there said he uses a number of different translations although he preaches, studies, and teaches from the King James.
He advises to spend more time “praying and obeying” than looking for that perfect translation and you will make faster progress in your Spiritual walk with God.
And that in addition, all modern bibles are a virtual clones of the errors found in the King James which is a Latin Bible.
I know for a fact that Joyce Meyer uses an Amplified Version. As a bible teacher, she should know what is the correct version to preach from.
However when I first became a Christian in 1989, the books I bought were by Kenneth E. Hagin who taught exclusively from the King James except on occasions when he wanted to mention what other translations said or describe verses to compare them.
Perhaps though, he was restricted to the King James and didn’t have any other translation available and was comfortable looking up words he didn’t know the meaning of in the dictionary.
Personally, I used a New King James as I was told that it is exactly the same as the King James, except without the “thee” , “thou”, and “Ye”, as well as the other archaic words such as “charity”.

  32. I’m not trying to cause a argument but I have a question.
When different translations are compared to each other the King James is considered right and all the rest are compared to it. That is not comparing the King James to anything.
Why not compare the King James to the other translations.
I have been studying the different translations and I find none of them are perfect.
I have four different translations, The King James being on of them and I find no problem with it.
The different translations come from different manuscripts, how do we know which one is right?
The King James was not taken from the oldest which I would think I would be the closest to t original manuscripts.
The only perfect manuscripts are the originals and we don’t have them anymore.

    • I understand what you’re saying John. The King James is used because the Old Testament is based on the Masoretic Text, and the New Testament on the Textus Receptus; which are the best manuscripts.

Modern versions use other manuscripts such as the Alexandrian codices called the Codex Sinaiticus and Codex Vaticanus. They are esteemed because they are older, but they have been proven to be corrupt.

  33. Thank you very much for the info you presented David. I am relatively new to asking for Jesus Christ in my heart. Having a bible closest to the truth is necessary, I use the KJV AV and the ISR, I am not sure of the ISR scriptures, they say their print is based on the TR so it appears to be legit, I have found nothing in it yet that demeans the Word.perhaps you may have some insite for me there. Also I would like to get a copy of the Septuagint, alas only the Brenton translation is available. In checking for the veracity of bibles I came across the references to Vaticanus and Sinaiticus, I am astounded that anyone could take either of these as being legitimate, one from the Vatican and one that it appears is also contentious as to whether it was stolen or bought from the Monastery. All said your study has shown that I am not being led astray by other writings, and I have no problem with reading archaic english.

  34. I was with you in almost every point. Well done for the most part. Great time spent in sorting through the mess in the NIV. However, you blew it huge, when it comes to 1 John 5:7-8. The statement father, word and holy spirit does not exist in the earliest manuscripts in Greek. This is text that was clearly added later. Please research this and modify as appropriate. Believe me, I’m not a fan of the NIV, but your assessment was incorrect and I’d hate for this one “common” slip-up to be the reason why someone would throw out your entire work. This is a weak verification of the Trinity. As Christians, we don’t need that verse to justify the Trinity. The Catholic or RCC added that in most likely, from a weak position. If you think I’m completely wrong, let me know in email or here. Wherever. We are supposed to sharpen one another. I just hope you take it in the constructive manner that it was meant.

In 1 John 5:7-8 the NIV removed the ‘Father, Word(Jesus) and Holy Ghost: and these three are one‘ from the passage, thereby removing proof of the Holy trinity.

I simply want to join with the many others who want to thank you. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your hard work in bringing this vital information to my knowledge. I was with a church of good folk who use the NIV and I bought myself a large study version of the NIV. But on learning of these horrendous deletions which so change the whole meaning, especially about the Divinity of our Lord Jesus, I was desperately upset. Of course I use the KJV all the time now and have bought a lovely edition which is beautiful to hold, because my beloved KJV Bible from my childhood was becoming ragged and I want to save it from damage.
I said your work is ‘vital’ and my choice of this word was deliberate. Without people like you, who devote your life to saving our souls and rescuing us from unsafe versions of the Bible, many of us might not have a full grasp of the true nature of God and of his son Jesus both on earth and in heaven. May the Lord bless you and I thank you most deeply from my heart.

  39. Dear Sir,

Whilst being an upholder of the Authorised Version of the King James Bible (I say this because Most American Publishers have adulterated the original text as held by Cambridge (English) and Oxford (American) printing press with permission from the Crown Authorities of England), and whilst I agree with the majority of your article, I must disagree with your basic premise, that the NIV and modern versions have removed or changed verses from the AV KJV.
The misconception is that the NIV and other versions used the AV KJV as their source material for their translations, which they did not.
The AV KJV is translated from the Received Text, that agrees with itself and many copies to about 98%.
The NIV and newer editions (including the NKJV) are translated from the Alexandrian Text, which of all three copies do not even agree with each in the majority of their writings.
What we do have, is the AV KJV translated from the original Word of God, though only a translation and not perfect, yet still the best we have.
And the NIV and newer editions translated from a corrupt text, and changed to suit the agenda of the publishers, their profit margins, and to tickle the ears of the uneducated people into buying the new, and latest, and supposedly best edition, that they have copyrighted to make even more money.
I reject therefore the NIV, and the newer translations as The Word of God, they are merely bibles in the sense of a book like any other you would find in the local library.
And please research the origin of the name Lucifer, and it’s use before the Latin Vulgate, the only name for the devil in Scripture, in Hebrew and Greek, is satan.

Myself has read the Chinese union version (old version) and revised version, both are more like the NIV version. From my brief and limited understanding, actually KJV has added many interpretations not in the original Hebrew and Greek text, and you now based on the assumption KJV is the authentic bible and judge NIV removing text. Please study more thoroughly before making such serious accusation.

I have never read a more outrageous, preposterous, surreptitious, Machiavellian, idiotic lie in my entire life.
“Dr.” can often mean “Witch Doctor,” “Voodoo-ologist,” or what they called them in Mark’s day, a “Christ Hawker.” There is a very cool Greek word for a man who stands on the street corner and sells Jesus.
To play hard ball with these people, any “Christian” who calls himself a “Dr.” doesn’t have anything near second language fluency in post-Hellenistic Koine because the Pragmatics of Matthew 23 is completely over his head.

Gipp is either a witch doctor or the biggest liar in Christdom. There are “Majority Texts” and “Minority Texts,” and with very few exceptions, translations of the New Testament after 1881 have been Minority texts. For example, what is so preposterous about Gipp is that by definition any Minority Text is founded on the Codex Sinaiticus. W&H (The heretics?) based their 1881 Greek edition on it. The Codex Sinaiticus was discovered in the 19th century at St. Catherine’s at the base of “Mt. Sinai” and emphatically not before that. We all go back and forth. The two oldest known Bibles in the world are Codex Vaticanus and Codex Sinaiticus. We date those to the early 4th century. What Gipp is saying is the Codex Sinaiticus was discovered before 1600. He isn’t a Greek scholar from this planet.

The KJV? That is the same King James who wrote the handbook on how to hunt witches. He sat on the trials of several.

  44. You ever wonder why people say He is the Antichrist or The Antichrist is coming? Even among people who claim to not be christians still seem to know about the word Antichrist or the Antichrist. There is simple explanation to this question. The bible was changed in new translations like in the NIV New International version published in 1978 and ESV English Standard version published 2001. The Bible was 1st published in English in the 1300s leading up to KJV King James version published in 1611. So for 411 years we have a historical bible which was taken from the original Latin, Greek, Hebrew language. Thanks to God helping me to find this discovery. What verses I found that were changed from KJV in the new translations like NIV and ESV is shocking. These verses changes changed the beliefs of an entire generation of people now the future. So the one word changed form “That” to “The” changed the whole meaning of the scriptures.

    Verse 1:
KJV 1 John 2 verse 18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
NIV 1 John 2 verse 18 Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour.

    Verse 2:
KJV 1 John 2 verse 22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
NIV 1 John 2 verse 22 Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist—denying the Father and the Son.

    Verse 3:
KJV 1 John 4 verse 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
NIV 1 John 4 verse 3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.

    Verse 4:
KJV 2 John 1 verse 7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
NIV 2 John 1 verse 7 I say this because many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone

All of this was to have people be looking for someone or a person to be the Antichrist. The KJV verses on the word Antichrist subject says to be Antichrist in KJV 1 John 2 verse 22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
So why is the focus on the word Antichrist such a focus today? Most people associate the word Antichrist to mark of beast 666. The word Antichrist in now used to take the focus off who is the False Prophet in Revelation 19 verse 20. This is because the False Prophet is tied to the mark of the Beast 666 in Revelation 13 verse 11-19. The word meaning of Antichrist was never meant to be in any relation to mark of the beast 666.
In the book KJV Revelation 13 and 17 speaks about what John saw being the Great Whore, False Prophet, and the Beast.
Beginning in KJV Revelation 17 verse 1 describes the Whore sitting upon many waters with whom the kings of the earth have been drunk with the wine of her fornication. In Revelation 17 verse 9 The seven heads are seven mountains which the woman sitteth. The Vatican in Rome of the Roman Catholic Church is known as the city on seven hills. Rev 17 v 18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth. Rev 13 v 18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. The False Prophet is the Pope in Rome. He claims to be head of Christianity and face of the christian church.
Rev 20 v 10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

The word antichrist was never meant to any one person but a disbelief that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. So if you hear people say He is the antichrist or antichrist is coming don’t believe it. Believe what is written in KJV Bible not the NIV, ESV, or what people say in social media.
